Provide strategic direction to the team by identifying processes and procedures that would benefit from revision; recognizing team member performance and providing ongoing training, evaluation and support; developing and planning team work flows and processes to ensure outcomes are in line with organizational goals and objectives.</p> <p>Managing Talent</p> <ul> <li>Reviewing and overseeing work related to accounting transactions effecting the balance sheet and statement of revenue and expenses and change in net assets, cash receipts, and fixed assets and reconciliations for three business units. </li><li>Conduct performance evaluations. </li></ul> <p>Inspiring Performance</p> <ul> <li>Foster and promote the Principles of Conduct for a Multi-Cultural University and User-Friendly Principles. Promote, ensure, and enforce PP&D application of appropriate industry professional responsibilities and ethical standards. </li></ul> <p>Building Teams</p> <ul> <li>Lead University-wide committees and work teams as directed or appropriate. </li><li>Represents the Executive Director as directed or appropriate on university/community committees and work groups. </li><li>Leading and supporting work of peers within the organization, which cross accounting by providing review and approval of journals for appropriateness and accuracy. </li></ul> <p>Using & Sharing Information</p> <ul> <li>Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance to GAAP, GASB, and FASB standards and regulatory requirements. Produce financial statements in GASB and FASB format. </li><li>Consistently analyze financial data presented and oversee financial reporting to ensure information presented is accurate and in a timely manner; clearly communicate monthly, quarterly, annual financial deadlines; monitor progress and changes and keep senior leadership abreast of UCorp, AS and Foundation financial status. When warranted the Director of Finance will make recommendations to improve fiscal operations. </li><li>Oversee and manage all audit activity for the annual audit for the three auxiliaries and provide leadership and direction to the team for audit preparation. </li><li>Director of Finance will be responsible with engaging the board's audit and finance committees regarding UCorp's financial statement analysis, carrying out board directed activities and internal controls. </li><li>Reviewing, assessing, and implementing new accounting pronouncements that apply to UCorp business. </li><li>Create, and maintain internal control and safeguards for receipt of revenue, payroll, and actual expenditures. </li><li>Oversee the fixed assets program which involves staff recording appropriately to the G/L, tagging and bi-annual physical inventory. </li><li>Prepare, review, analyze and present financial reports as requested for three auxiliaries. </li></ul> <p>Facilitating Change</p> <ul> <li>Partners with and leads UCorp division administrators in the development, execution and on-going review of strategic initiative identification, planning, and development. </li></ul> <p>Delineated by Subject Matter:</p> <p>Finance and Accounting Leadership</p> <ul> <li>Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance to GAAP, GASB, and FASB standards and regulatory requirements. Leverage strengths of the current accounting team members, help clarify roles and responsibilities to maximize and reach optimal individual and organizational goals. Provide strategic direction to the team by identifying processes and procedures that would benefit from revision; recognizing team member performance and providing ongoing training, evaluation and support; developing and planning teamwork flows and processes to ensure outcomes are in line with organizational goals and objectives. </li><li>Reviewing and overseeing work related to accounting transactions effecting the balance sheet and statement of revenue and expenses and change in net assets, cash receipts, and fixed assets and reconciliations for three business units. </li><li>Leading and supporting work of peers within the organization which cross accounting by providing review and approval of journals for appropriateness and accuracy. </li><li>Performance evaluations. </li></ul> <p>Supplemental Functions</p> <ul> <li>Represent UCorp Executive Director on campus committees or work groups, and outside agencies, as directed. </li><li>Attend conferences and seminars, as directed. </li><li>Other Duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>A minimum of a bachelor's degree/equivalent in accounting, finance management, economics or related field. Master's Degree or CPA preferred. </li><li>A minimum of seven years' experience in an accounting position where substantial judgment, analysis, interpretation, integration of complex data and information was required. As well as experience handling full charge accounting duties. </li><li>Demonstrated competence in the areas of finance, and accounting. </li><li>Supervisory experience required. </li><li>Thorough knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles practices for a non-profit or governmental environment (i.e. FASB and GASB). </li><li>Experience identifying, recommending, and implementing corrective or preventive action in regard to an accounting system or procedure. </li><li>Experience handling investments related to an endowment fund over 100 million dollars. </li><li>Knowledge processing and supervising the processing of payroll. </li><li>Proficient with computer applications (i.e., excel, word, access, PowerPoint). </li><li>Demonstrated competency of well-developed written and oral skills. </li><li>Ability to build and enhance business relationships. </li><li>Technology savvy with experience selecting and overseeing software installations; advanced knowledge of accounting and reporting software. </li><li>Solid experience coordinating audit activities and managing reports, budget development and analysis, accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, and accounting for investments. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to set and meet project deadlines and manage multiple tasks with continual interruptions. </li></ul> <p>Pre-Employment Requirements</p> <p>This position requires the successful completion of a background check.</p> <p>Eligibility to Work</p> <p>Applicants must be able to provide proof of US Citizenship or authorization to work in the United States, within three business days from their date of hire.</p> <p>Benefits</p> <p>Threaded through our Total Compensation package is a commitment to Bridging Life's Transitions.
