A typical week</p> <p>during the regular academic year may include</p> <p>one or two weekday nights from</p> <p>4pm to 11pm with additional hours on</p> <p>Saturday and/or Sunday.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Assist library users in finding information and materials using the library catalog, databases, and other online resources via in-person, online chat, email, and phone. </li><li>Supervise student workers at the Circulation Desk, Information Commons Desk, and Library Classroom during assigned shift. </li><li>Close or open the library, depending on shift. </li><li>Assist library users with computers and software. </li><li>Enforce the library's policies. </li><li>Other clerical and library duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <p>Education and/or Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Associate's degree required; bachelor's degree preferred. </li><li>Two to four years in customer service and/or library experience. </li></ul> <p>Technology Skills:</p> <ul> <li>Competent and comfortable in use of computers and software such as Microsoft Office and/or Google Drive. </li><li>Experience with research assistance preferred. </li></ul> <p>Human Relations Skills:</p> <ul> <li>Excellent customer service skills. </li><li>Communicate effectively in both oral and written form. </li><li>Ability to multi-task and work independently. </li><li>Ability to work effectively with people regardless of their age, gender, race, sexual orientation, ethnicity, religion, ability, socio-economic background, or job type. </li></ul> <p>Other Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Shift changes and/or weekend work may be required by your supervisor based on departmental and University needs. </li><li>Candidates must be willing and able to support and advance the University mission. </li></ul> <p>Please submit a cover letter and resume for this position along with this electronic application.</p> <p>Carroll University makes employment opportunities available to qualified individuals whose skills and experience make them suitable candidates for placement.
