Our 30,000 colleagues work across the UK to provide easy and convenient mobility, improving quality of life by connecting people and communities.</p> <p>Position: PSV/HGV Mechanic</p> <p>Location: Worcester, Padmore Street, WR1 2PA</p> <p>Contract: 39 hours per week, full time & permanent</p> <p>Working Hours: 5 days over 7 on a rotating shift pattern of early and lates</p> <p>Hourly Rate: £18.76 per hour (£19.01 per hour if you are a PCV license holder) + enhanced weekend rate</p> <p>Salary: Approx. £38,045</p> <p>About the Role</p> <p>Do you want to be part of our dedicated team of mechanical engineers and maintenance staff repairing our fleet of buses across Worcester? We're looking for skilled and forward-thinking people to join our busy Engineering team.</p> <p>We offer technical up-skilling and career progression, we'll also provide your PPE and basic tools you'll need to succeed in your role, as well as a competitive hourly rate and great rewards & benefits (see below).</p> <p>We are looking for NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) qualified Engineers - preferably in heavy vehicle or PSV mechanical maintenance, however we also welcome applications from ex-Forces personnel with an engineering apprenticeship qualification, and experienced engineers from other sectors looking for a change.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Diagnose and carry out vehicle repairs, servicing, and parts replacement</p> </li><li> <p>Diagnose vehicle faults and specify the correct method of repair and parts to be used</p> </li><li> <p>Carry out vehicle servicing and routine vehicle examinations using hand held data capture devices if applicable</p> </li><li> <p>Attend on-road vehicle breakdowns and recoveries</p> </li><li> <p>Carry out vehicle road testing where necessary to identify specific vehicle defects or following remedial repair</p> </li></ul> <p>About You</p> <ul> <li> <p>Do you have a minimum of Level 3 NVQ or equivalent qualification in vehicle mechanics?</p> </li><li> <p>Do you have a flexible approach to working hours?</p> </li><li> <p>Must have a valid UK driver's licence and the ability to obtain a PCV license (we will help you achieve this)</p> </li><li> <p>Experience of working with buses, coaches or HGVs would be an advantage, but any vehicle mechanic experience will be considered</p> </li></ul> <p>Applicants are advised that background checks will be conducted as a standard part of our recruitment process and to comply with UK employment requirements, we ask all applicants to confirm their right to work in the UK.</p> <p>Equal Opportunities</p> <p>We aspire to be a diverse and inclusive employer because we believe that diversity brings benefits for our customers, communities and our people.
