<p>The Library Aide position performs routine and repetitive work in shelving library materials. The primary responsibilities of the position include performing a variety of entry level tasks of routine difficulty related to the City and County's library operations and providing assistance to City and County staff and the public.</p> <p>The position exemplifies the characteristics of a collaborative, innovative and resilient work culture within the department and works in partnership with other employees when appropriate to provide effective library services.</p> <p>(The following statements are illustrative of the essential functions of the job. The City and County of Broomfield retains the right to modify or change the duties or responsibilities and additional functions of the job at any time. Examples of duties are not intended to be all-inclusive or restrictive.)</p> <ul> <li> <p>Puts book trucks in order and returns books and other library materials to shelves according to Dewey Decimal or alphabetical order.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintains the library by straightening shelves and picking up stray books and other library materials left on tables and chairs.</p> </li><li> <p>Shifts books, when required, and relocates mis-shelved books according to call number. Maintain assigned realm in proper order.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists library staff by pulling requested holds and assisting with circulation check-ins during high volume periods.</p> </li><li> <p>This position is not eligible for a hybrid or remote schedule</p> </li></ul> <p>Education</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma / GED, or actively working towards diploma/GED </li></ul> <p>Experience</p> <ul> <li>None </li></ul> <p>Years of related experience may be substituted for required education, however education cannot be substituted for the necessary work experience.
