Candidates from outside or within State Service can apply.</p> <p>As a Plant Superintendent C, you will supervise staff that are responsible for the operation and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment related to the physical plant and maintenance operations including:</p> <ul> <li>Planning maintenance, repair, and construction projects. </li><li>Assigning and overseeing work assignments to ensure they are completed on schedule. </li><li>Administering all maintenance contracts. </li><li>Ensuring buildings and systems are in compliance with federal and State regulatory agencies. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications Candidates from outside or within State Service can be considered for hire under the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement - Statewide (HELPS) program as a Plant Superintendent C if they have 6 years of experience in a physical plant in an institutional, educational, laboratory, or healthcare setting, or a power plant, which must include management of daily plant operations including procedure development, budget planning and workforce allocation, efficiency, and enforcement of codes and standards; capital planning or construction/rehabilitation projects; and/or contract management of building maintenance/construction/rehabilitation projects and grounds.</p> <p>Substitutions: Associate's degree in a related field can substitute for 2 years of specialized experience, bachelor's degree in a related field can substitute for 4 years of specialized experience, master's degree in a related field can substitute for 5 years of specialized experience, and doctorate in a related field can substitute for 6 years of specialized experience.</p> <p>OR</p> <p>Candidates from outside or within State Service can be considered for a competitive class appointment if they are reachable on the current Plant Superintendent C eligible list.</p> <p>OR</p> <p>Candidates from within State Service can be considered transfer to a competitive class position if they have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.</p> <p>OR</p> <p>In accordance with Section 52.7 of the Civil Service Law, this notice advises all employees of the Office of Mental Health of our intention to conduct a non-competitive promotion examination for the position of Plant Superintendent C at Hutchings Psychiatric Center.
