<p>Position Overview:</p> <p>As a Farmstand Clerk you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, maintaining a clean and organized farmstand, handling sales transactions, and ensuring that all produce and products are displayed attractively.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Greeting customers in a friendly and welcoming manner </li><li>Engaging and assisting with customers and providing information about farm produce, products and farming practices </li><li>Operating a cash register or point of sale (POS) system to handle cash, credit and debit transactions </li><li>Ensuring accurate handling of money and making correct change </li><li>Processing sales efficiently and issue receipts </li><li>Arranging produce and products in an attractive/organized manner </li><li>Monitoring inventory levels and restock shelves as needed </li><li>Keeping track of I stock levels and report any shortages to Farmstand Manager </li><li>Assisting in receiving deliveries and inspecting good for quality </li><li>Keeping the farmstand clean, organized and presentable - including but not limited to sweeping floors, wiping down surfaces and keeping the area tidy </li><li>Assisting in setting up promotional displays and signage </li><li>Informing customers about special offers, events, and new products </li><li>Assisting with the setup, operation and closing of the farmstand </li><li>Participating in farm tours </li><li>Flexibility to work various or additional shifts, as needed including evenings, weekends, and holidays </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned by leadership </li></ul> <p>Environment:</p> <ul> <li>Various outdoor weather conditions and temperatures </li></ul> <p>Schedule:</p> <ul> <li>As needed based on the farming season </li></ul> <p>Experience/Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>16 years or older </li><li>Preferred: Previous farmstand, retail, customer service or POS experience </li></ul> <p>Skills:</p> <ul> <li>Safety Culture: Maintain and drive safety policies to all associates; driving for accountability of safe practices throughout shift </li><li>Physical abilities: May be required to lift up to 50-65lbs.; standing, bending, lifting and twisting for up to 90% of your shift; frequently lifting product from various heights including floor level to over your head; Ability to stand or walk at least 10 hours daily; working in various temperature environments; </li><li>Strong communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with peers and leaders on a daily basis </li><li>Organizational Skills: Ability to fulfill customer orders in a timely manner; ability to prioritize and meet deadlines </li><li>Working in a team based environment: Working independently and as a team player to ensure our customers are receiving orders timely and with the highest quality </li><li>Quality: Maintain integrity and high standards of product handling from all perspectives </li></ul>
