<p>Director of Student Financial Aid - DIS - req12489</p> <p>If you are a TRS or ORP retiree please contact Employment at employment@alamo.edu for clarification on eligibility of this position.</p> <p>Posting closes on: 6/29/2025 at 6:00pm CST</p> <p>The date after which applications are not guaranteed review is Monday June 9, 2025.</p> <p>The Director of Student Financial Aid must be an effective leader and have proficient knowledge regarding federal, state, and institutional financial aid programs, including related policies and procedures, for guiding a multi-college financial aid department. This role involves providing comprehensive financial aid services to students, promoting financial aid programs within the community, and working with district and college-wide student support services. This role is a member of an operational think tank and thought partner, tasked with implementing changes to support the administration of financial aid for five independent colleges.</p> <p>Reporting to the Associate Vice Chancellor, Student Financial Aid, the incumbent will be responsible for supervising a staff comprised of employees skilled in general financial aid advising, including subject-specific duties relevant to the field of financial aid (financial aid packaging, federal loans, FAFSA verification, student employment, etc.). The position may oversee Federal and State compliance, fund reconciliation, data analysis, and the completion of various reports. Must be a team player with a positive attitude, supportive of change, committed to sharing ideas, innovative, kind, and eager to assist students, staff, and colleagues with understanding key and relevant financial aid issues.</p> <p>The Alamo Colleges District is an award-winning collective of five colleges in the Greater San Antonio area whose mission is to empower our diverse communities for success. Alamo St.</p> <p>San Antonio, Texas, 78215</p> <p>United States</p> <p>Job Summary and Description</p> <p>Persuades or influences people outside the College or District on financial aid matters that can have a significant impact on the finances of the College or District. Organizes, plans for, develops, and directs a work unit. Serves as an organization-wide expert in financial aid for internal and external customers.</p> <p>To view a complete job description, click here.</p> <p>This position reports directly to the Associate Vice Chancellor, Student Financial Aid and Services, within the Student Financial Aid unit of the Student Success division.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Minimum Education and Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree or a combination of relevant experience, education and training that equates to the required degree. </li><li>Six years of related experience. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Education and Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Master's degree. </li><li>Degree in finance, business administration, public administration or a closely related field. </li><li>Eight years of financial aid experience. </li><li>Proficient with and high level of understanding of the Federal Student Aid Handbook, Code of Federal Regulations, and Audit requirements. Knowledge of Banner (Ellucian) a plus. </li><li>Emphasis on compliance with Federal and State financial aid, funds management and reconciliation, data analysis, and responsible for completing the FISAP, IPEDS, and audits for five independent Colleges. </li><li>A team player with a positive attitude, supportive of change, willing to share ideas, innovative, kind, and willingness to assist students, staff, and colleagues with understanding key and relevant financial aid issues. </li><li>Ability to communicate and teach others is essential. </li></ul> <p>Licenses and Certifications:</p> <ul> <li>Must possess a valid driver license.
