<p>PRIMARY PURPOSE:</p> <p>As a Bartender, you are responsible for being knowledgeable of menu items, liquor brands, beers, and non-alcoholic selections as well as maintaining the appearance of the bar.</p> <p>Position: Full-Time</p> <p>Location: Gold Strike Casino</p> <p>PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Make and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, proportioning ingredients according to standardized recipes and providing food service as needed. </li><li>Clean equipment, tools, and supplies and ensure equipment is in good working order, including, cleanliness, sanitation, and appearance of the bar. </li><li>Knowledgeable of menu items, liquor brands, beers, and non-alcoholic selections available. </li><li>Ring poured or served beverages, collect payments, and follow all cash handling and variance procedures, including preparing daily reports and submitting appropriate paperwork. </li><li>Provide Apprentice Bartenders and Bar Porters with training and mentoring on the overall function of the bar, guest service, and bartending. </li><li>Maintain bar inventory according to set pars and internal controls, and request products to maintain stock in the bar. </li><li>Resolve guest complaints within the scope of authority; otherwise, refer the matter to management, and notify the supervisor and/or Security of all unusual events, circumstances, missing items, or alleged theft. </li><li>Perform other job-related duties as requested. </li></ul> <p>MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent. </li><li>Two (2) years of experience in a bar or similar environment. </li><li>Experience working in a similar resort setting. </li></ul> <p>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Knowledgeable of menu items, including mixture and serving beverages, standard beverage recipes, preparation methods, glassware, garnishes, products, menu items, supplies, and equipment. </li><li>Knowledgeable of wine and champagne characteristics by the glass, major wines, designated glassware, terminology, and garnishes. </li><li>Able to take initiative and exhibit flexibility. </li><li>Highly motivated and energetic personality. </li><li>Knowledge of hotel services, features, local attractions, and activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately. </li><li>Excellent customer service skills as well as interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts. </li></ul> <p>WORKING CONDITIONS:</p> <ul> <li>This is not intended to include every duty or responsibility of the job nor is it intended to be an all-inclusive list of the skills and abilities required to do this job. </li></ul> <p>This position may require strenuous physical activities and exposure to pipe, cigar, and/or cigarette smoking.
