<p>ABOUT VOORHEES UNIVERSITY</p> <p>In celebration of its 125th year of existence on April 7, 2022, Voorhees College was renamed Voorhees University to honor founder, Elizabeth Evelyn Wight. Voorhees University is a private, diverse, historically black, coeducational, liberal arts, baccalaureate degree-granting institution affiliated with the Episcopal Church. Located in rural Denmark, South Carolina, the University serves traditional and nontraditional students primarily from South Carolina and the southeastern region of the United States; however, seeks to expand our reach both nationally and internationally. Through this charge, greater emphasis will be placed on high performing learners, highly accomplished faculty and staff, an involved community, and a supportive and dedicated alumni base.</p> <p>POSITION SUMMARY</p> <p>Guided by the Presidential priorities and reporting directly to the Chief of Staff, the Coordinator of Global Education, Programs and Services provides leadership, coordination, and administrative support for the University's international education initiatives. The position is responsible for supporting international students and scholars, coordinating international partnerships and study abroad programs, and advancing the University's global engagement efforts in alignment with its mission and strategic goals. The Coordinator serves as a key resource for international students, faculty, staff, and external partners and supports the development, implementation, and evaluation of international programs and services that enhance global learning, cultural exchange, and student success. The Coordinator for Global Education, Programs, and Services is responsible for advancing the University's global engagement priorities while ensuring full compliance with accreditation standards, federal immigration laws, and visa regulations. The Coordinator supports the recruitment, retention, and success of international students and scholars; coordinates study abroad and international partnership initiatives; and ensures institutional adherence to U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), SEVP, and visa compliance requirements. The position collaborates closely with academic affairs, enrollment management, student services, and external agencies to maintain accurate records, support audit readiness, and uphold best practices in international education. Consistent with HBCU global engagement priorities, the Coordinator promotes inclusive, culturally responsive programming that expands global access, fosters cross-cultural understanding, and advances equitable international opportunities aligned with the University's mission, accreditation expectations, and institutional effectiveness goals.</p> <p>Position: Coordinator for Global Education, Programs, Services</p> <p>Division: Central Administration</p> <p>Salary Range: $50,000 - $60,000</p> <p>FLSA Classification: Salaried, Exempt/Grant funded</p> <p>Position Type/Duration: Full Time/12 months</p> <p>Position Schedule: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Monday - Friday (evenings, weekends, and travel may be required)</p> <p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS</p> <p>The Coordinator of Global Education, Programs, and Services provides leadership, coordination and administrative support for the University's international education initiatives.</p> <p>Essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:</p> <ul> <li>Coordinate services and support programs for international students and visiting scholars, including orientation, advising, and cultural adjustment support. </li><li>Assist with compliance and coordination related to international student documentation, policies, and reporting requirements. </li><li>Support the development and administration of study abroad, faculty-led programs, and international partnerships. </li><li>Serve as a liaison with academic departments, student services, and external agencies related to international education. </li><li>Promote global awareness and intercultural engagement through programs, workshops, and campus initiatives. </li><li>Assist with recruitment, retention, and engagement of international students. </li><li>Maintain accurate records, reports, and data related to international programs and participation. </li><li>Support international travel logistics and coordination for students, faculty, and staff as require </li><li>Provide guidance to students and faculty on international opportunities, policies, and best practices. </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned in support of the University's internationalization goals. </li></ul> <p>PHYSICAL DEMANDS</p> <ul> <li>Standard Office Environment </li></ul> <p>EDUCATION</p> <ul> <li>An earned master's degree from an accredited institution preferred, bachelor's degree considered </li></ul> <p>REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrated international experience, including international travel, study, work, or living abroad; </li><li>Experience working with international students, programs, or global education initiatives in higher education or a related setting; </li><li>Strong organizational, interpersonal, and cross-cultural communication skills. </li><li>Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and across multiple department </li><li>Knowledge of international education practices, student services, or study abroad programs preferred. </li><li>Commitment to the mission and values of Voorhees University. </li><li>The position requires occasional evening or weekend hours and international and domestic travel. </li><li>The Coordinator is expected to operate with professionalism, cultural sensitivity, and a student-centered approach while contributing to the University's global engagement and academic excellence. </li><li>Demonstrated interest and/or ability to work in a multicultural/multiethnic environment. </li><li>Promote accountability and integrity in advancing an overall commitment to the University's core values with an additional familiarity, dedication, and loyalty to the institution's history and traditions steeped in the Episcopal Church. </li></ul> <p>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS</p> <ul> <li>Exhibit excellent communication skills, sound judgement and decisive leadership. </li><li>Impeccable integrity and ability to treat all within the collegiate environment, especially students fairly, unbiasedly, and justly. </li><li>Demonstrated history of strong leadership and successful implementation of complex initiatives. </li><li>Previous experience working in a liberal arts environment and demonstrated leadership in education. </li><li>Exceptional management competency. Leadership driven by Policy/Procedures. </li><li>Internal and external relationship building. </li><li>Strong written and oral communication proficiency. </li><li>Possess strong public speaking, small group communication, and interpersonal skills. </li><li>Familiarity with the broader higher education landscape, preferably of the four- year residential and online institution. </li><li>Knowledge of the organization and administration of higher education. </li><li>Knowledge of state, federal, and university rules, regulations and procedures. </li><li>Ability to work in a diverse and dynamic environment. </li><li>Ability to work collaboratively and independently with common goals as a part of a team. </li><li>Ability to make sound judgements. </li><li>Effective interpersonal communication, writing, and organizational abilities. </li><li>Civility in all interactions. </li><li>Demonstrate effective follow-up. </li><li>Exceptional customer service and professionalism. </li><li>Great sense of humor. </li></ul>
