Elementary School</p> <p>Date Available:</p> <p>09/01/2025</p> <p>Closing Date:</p> <p>09/01/2025</p> <p>Additional Information: Show/Hide</p> <p>School Social Worker</p> <p>Education:</p> <p>Masters Degree</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Possession of New Jersey Educational Service certificate with School Social Worker endorsement.</p> </li><li> <p>Have experience working with children and adults.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of child growth and development, community social services resources, and current social work issues.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrate an understanding of current rules and regulations regarding Child Study Team and special education assessment and program requirements.</p> </li><li> <p>Exhibit a personality that demonstrates enthusiasm and the interpersonal skill to relate well with students, staff, administration, parents, and the community.</p> </li><li> <p>Proof of U. S. citizenship or legal resident alien status by completing Federal Form I-9 in compliance with the Immigration Reform and Control Act 1986.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide evidence that a criminal record history check has been conducted and clearance has been given by the Department of Education.</p> </li></ul> <p>Reports To: Supervisor of the Child Study Team</p> <p>Performance Responsibilities:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Assesses a student's social status in terms of personal and family history, socio-economic and cultural influence.</p> </li><li> <p>Evaluates the configuration of factors within the home, community and school as related to a student's current social and academic adjustment.</p> </li><li> <p>As a member of a Child Study Team, interprets the implications of significant social findings and participates in educational planning for exceptional students.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintains an ongoing relationship with families for purposes of:</p> </li></ol> <p>a. Sharing information regarding educational planning and programming for the student.</p> <p>b. Assisting the family in utilizing appropriate community resources.</p> <p>c. Providing counseling to family members and/or students to facilitate social adjustment.</p> <p>d. Making parents and school personnel aware of resources available which may have direct impact</p> <p>upon family functioning.</p> <ol start="5"> <li> <p>Initiates, facilitates and maintains liaison with community agencies and other resources to meet special needs.</p> </li><li> <p>Consults with administration and staff regarding social adjustment factors of students in school, at home and in the community.</p> </li><li> <p>Provides counseling services to students and/or parents regarding social adjustment problems.</p> </li><li> <p>Advocates positive social changes.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintains appropriate case records.</p> </li><li> <p>Serves as consultant to parents in terms of interpretation of findings, educational recommendations and suggested parent participation in the educational plan.</p> </li><li> <p>Assumes primary responsibility for requisitioning and maintaining needed supplies.</p> </li><li> <p>Performs such other duties that may be requested by the Child Study Team Supervisor to fulfill the responsibilities of this position.</p> </li><li> <p>Perform all other responsibilities and duties as may be assigned by the Superintendent of Schools and/or his/her designees.</p> </li></ol> <p>Employment conditions:</p> <p>Contract year: September 1 to June 30 (10 Mos.)</p> <p>Job Family Professional Staff</p> <p>Pay Grade/Compensation Structure: G10</p> <p>Evaluation: In accordance with Board policy</p> <p>Job Code: 3117</p>
