University employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package that includes excellent healthcare, retirement plans, tuition assistance, paid time off, and a winter recess.</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>POSITION OBJECTIVE</p> <p>Working under limited supervision, the Interviewer and Research Assistant will coordinate data collection and participant interactions for a National Institutes of Health (NIH)-funded randomized clinical trial examining the impact of medically tailored groceries (MTGs) on maternal and neonatal outcomes. The role involves conducting sensitive and empathetic interviews with study participants, scheduling dietary recalls, managing participant compensation, and assisting with gift coordination for mothers and babies. This position supports the study's mission to improve health outcomes in underserved populations through accurate data collection and participant engagement. This is a part-time, term position.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS</p> <ul> <li>Coordinate laboratory/ research activities. Conduct all phone interviews with study participants to collect personal and sensitive information, ensuring data quality and maintaining confidentiality. Input interview data directly and accurately into the REDCap database. Adhere to all IRB data and patient safety protocols, especially in recording any adverse events reported during the interviews. (30%) </li><li>Work closely with the principal investigator and project manager to discuss the status of each study participant and resolve any issues promptly. (20%) </li><li>Carry out complex research assignments regarding participant project milestones. Process participant compensation for completing surveys and dietary recalls using CashApp or other online financial tools. Maintain all financial records regarding payments. Assist participants in selecting $50 worth of mom or baby gifts post-birth, ensuring timely ordering and delivery. Manage gift inventory and coordinate deliveries. May monitor budget. (15%) </li><li>Devise new protocols and techniques for research projects involving a high degree of skill and training specifically pertaining to efficiency and tracking of study participants, data collection and analysis. May co-author research projects. (10%) </li><li>Evaluate adequacy of protocols and techniques to ensure new and preexisting procedures and data analysis are best practice by the standards of the study and IRB. (10%) </li><li>Document all aspects of participant interactions and study processes, maintaining meticulous records to ensure compliance with research protocols. (10%) </li></ul> <p>NONESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS</p> <p>Support additional administrative tasks as needed to facilitate the study. Perform other duties as assigned. (5%)</p> <p>CONTACTS</p> <p>Department: Frequent contact with the Project Manager and study team to discuss research progress, participant status, and maintain workflow.</p> <p>University: Occasional contact with the Bionutrition Core and other departments to coordinate participant schedules.</p> <p>External: Frequent contact with study participants to conduct interviews, schedule recalls, and manage compensation and gift selection.</p> <p>Students: Infrequent contact with students.</p> <p>SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY</p> <p>This position does not have supervisory responsibilities. May supervise students and technicians.</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS</p> <p>Experience: 3 to 5 years of related experience required.</p> <p>Education: Bachelor of Science degree required. Master's degree in Public Health, Nutrition, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field preferred.</p> <p>REQUIRED SKILLS</p> <ul> <li>Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish rapport and maintain trust with study participants. </li><li>Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. </li><li>Proficiency in REDCap for data entry and management. </li><li>Familiarity with online financial tools such as CashApp for processing participant payments. </li><li>Empathetic and culturally sensitive approach to interacting with diverse populations. </li><li>Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with the utmost discretion. </li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other common software tools. </li><li>Ability to regularly use Google Chat for team communication and collaboration. </li><li>Must attend weekly grant meetings to stay updated on the study's progress and objectives. </li><li>Demonstrated history of successful support, education, and advocacy for all students, aligned with the values, mission, and messaging of the university, while adhering to the staff policy on conflict of commitment and interest. </li><li>Ability to meet consistent attendance. </li><li>Ability to interact with colleagues, supervisors, and customers face to face. </li></ul> <p>WORKING CONDITIONS</p> <p>Work will primarily take place remotely, with occasional in-person meetings or visits to clinical sites as needed. Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings or weekends, to accommodate participant schedules. Minimal physical demands, though the position may require extended periods of phone-based interviews or computer use.</p> <p>Term Position</p> <p>This is a Term position. They are treated like regular staff positions for medical and dental benefits eligibility, vacation, holidays, and sick time. Term employees are not eligible for life insurance, retirement, long term disability, short term disability, tuition assistance, layoff status, or severance pay. Staff in term positions are also subject to the performance management review process and positive corrective action when work performance or behavior is unsatisfactory or unacceptable. Term employment does not alter the employment-at-will employee status of these employees.</p> <p>.</p> <p>Hybrid Eligibility</p> <p>This position is eligible for hybrid work arrangement up to two remote days per week at the discretion of the department.
