<p>JOB FUCTION AND SCOPE</p> <p>The robotic polishing cell operator receives castings from the Machine Shop and processes them through the polishing robot before moving these parts to Inspection.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <ol> <li> <p>Load and unloads multiple belting and buffing robots.</p> </li><li> <p>Operate all the mechanical and control functions of the cells including:</p> </li></ol> <ul> <li>Installing, monitoring and replacing of abrasive belts </li><li>Installing, monitoring and replacing buff wheels </li><li>Initiating and downloading polishing & buffing programs, including physical changeover and setup of work cell. </li><li>Basic troubleshooting and diagnosis of the programs and mechanical systems to support proper operation of work cell. </li><li>Maintain liquid and solid buffing compounds </li></ul> <ol start="3"> <li> <p>Inspect each casting after belting and buffing; use a manual wheel to make corrections so that the parts are of acceptable quality to plate.</p> </li><li> <p>Fanuc Robotic tool handing.</p> </li><li> <p>Other duties may be assigned.</p> </li></ol> <p>EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE</p> <p>Recommended:</p> <ul> <li>A high school diploma or equivalent, and 3-5 years polishing shop experience as a polisher or buffer are required. </li><li>Visual acuity is required. </li></ul> <p>TRAINING</p> <ul> <li>Employee Orientation </li><li>Legal Compliance Calendar </li><li>ISO Training Matrix </li><li>PLC interface to control robotic equipment </li><li>Wheel and belt changing </li><li>Troubleshooting and diagnostics </li></ul> <p>LANGUAGE SKILLS</p> <ul> <li>Must be able to write and speak English and able to communicate with co-workers and supervisors. </li></ul> <p>MATHEMATICAL SKILLS</p> <p>Must be able to use math skills including addition and subtraction.</p> <p>REASONING ABILITIES</p> <ul> <li>Some judgment is required to set up assigned machine in accordance with standard methods and procedures. </li><li>Operator must be able to support the work cell in order to achieve and maintain prescribed production and quality rates. </li></ul> <p>CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS</p> <ul> <li>None required </li></ul> <p>ADDITIONAL COMMENTS</p> <p>PHYSICAL DEMANDS</p> <p>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
