<p>Occupational Therapist</p> <p>Reports To: Director of Pupil Personnel Services / Special Education Coordinator</p> <p>Position Summary:</p> <p>The Occupational Therapist provides evaluation, intervention, and</p> <p>consultation services to students with disabilities or developmental</p> <p>delays that interfere with participation and performance in the</p> <p>educational environment. The OT collaborates with teachers,</p> <p>administrators, parents, and related service providers to support</p> <p>students in achieving educational goals and accessing the curriculum</p> <p>in accordance with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).</p> <p><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong>____</strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Evaluate students to determine eligibility for occupational therapy services in the school setting. </li><li>Develop and implement individualized therapy goals aligned with students' IEPs. </li><li>Provide direct and consultative occupational therapy services to eligible students. </li><li>Assess and address fine motor, sensory processing, visual-motor, self-help, and adaptive skill deficits impacting educational performance. </li><li>Collaborate with teachers and staff to recommend classroom accommodations and adaptive strategies. </li><li>Participate in IEP meetings, multidisciplinary team meetings, and parent conferences. </li><li>Maintain accurate records, evaluations, progress reports, and Medicaid documentation in compliance with district, state, and federal requirements. </li><li>Recommend and assist with adaptive equipment and assistive technology as appropriate. </li><li>Monitor student progress and modify intervention plans as needed. </li><li>Provide training and support to school personnel and families regarding student needs and therapeutic strategies. </li><li>Maintain confidentiality of student records and information. </li><li>Comply with all district policies, Ohio Department of Education requirements, and IDEA regulations. </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Student Services or designee. </li></ul> <p><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong>____</strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></p> <p>Qualifications Required:</p> <ul> <li>Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution. </li><li>Valid Ohio Occupational Therapist License issued by the Ohio </li><li>Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Athletic Trainers Board. </li><li>Ability to obtain and maintain Ohio Department of Education credentials as required. </li><li>Knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, and special education procedures. </li><li>Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Previous experience working in a school setting. </li><li>Experience with sensory integration and assistive technology. </li><li>Knowledge of intervention strategies for students with autism spectrum disorders and other disabilities. </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to assess and develop individualized therapy plans. </li><li>Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills. </li><li>Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations. </li><li>Effective written and verbal communication skills. </li><li>Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and maintain timely documentation. </li><li>Proficiency with educational technology and electronic record systems. </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to lift, position, and assist students as needed. </li><li>Ability to move throughout school buildings and classrooms. </li><li>Ability to demonstrate therapeutic activities and techniques. </li></ul> <p>Work Environment:</p> <ul> <li>School classrooms </li><li>Therapy rooms </li><li>Special education settings </li><li>Occasional travel between district buildings </li></ul> <p>Terms of Employment: Salary:</p> <p>2026 - 2027 School Year Per the negotiated ECEA Contract</p> <p>189 days</p> <p>Equal Employment Opportunity</p> <p>East Cleveland City School District is an Equal Opportunity Employer</p> <p>and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex,</p> <p>national origin, age, disability, or any other protected status under</p> <p>applicable law.</p>
