Buffett, acquired Precision Castparts Corp.</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>PURPOSE:</p> <p>Under supervision, maintain, control and calibrate all measuring and test equipment (M&TE) used to determine conformance to product quality requirements.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Perform calibration of M&TE in accordance with ANSI Geometric and Tolerancing Specifications and the Groton Calibration Manual. </li><li>Use standard inspection equipment and the coordinate measuring machine to perform calibration. </li><li>Make routine repairs of gauges and fixtures. Coordinate non-routine and specialized repair with the responsible engineer. </li><li>Maintain the calibration recall system using the tooling files on the main computer system. Accurate documentation of this system is required by both internal and external sources. </li><li>Issue weekly calibration reports to notify supervisors and engineers of overdue calibrations and calibrations coming due. </li><li>Work with supervisors and leads to plan the recall of M&TE around production demands. </li><li>Order new and replacement gauges and maintain a stock of the more commonly used gauges. </li><li>Establish a vendor base and work with these vendors to design specialty gauges for unique applications. </li><li>Coordinate outsourcing of calibrations that cannot be performed in-house. </li><li>Create fixture drawings for jobs which have missing fixture blueprints. </li><li>Maintain tool and gauge area in a clean and orderly manner. </li></ul> <p>SPECIAL SKILLS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:</p> <ul> <li>Familiarity with CMM inspection. </li><li>Proficient with various types of dimensional inspection equipment. This includes, but is not limited to dial calipers, micrometers, thickness gauges, etc. </li><li>Must be able to perform the dimension inspection requirements of any equipment activated by the recall system. </li><li>Basic understanding of ANSI Y 14.5 M 994 specification and the ability to read blueprints. </li><li>Must have a basic understanding of shop math. </li><li>Must be comfortable with the use of computers for record keeping and ordering gauges and supplies. </li><li>Must be organized and able to keep track of a large number of gauges and tools. </li></ul> <p>REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:</p> <ul> <li>Reports directly to the QA Manager. </li></ul> <p>EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma </li><li>Trade school diploma preferred. </li><li>Minimum of three years of manufacturing experience including the use of various hand tools and gauges and an understanding of general industry requirements related to calibration and tool use. </li></ul> <p>All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran.</p> <p>This position requires use of information or access to production processes subject to national security controls under U.S. export control laws and regulations (including, but not limited to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)). To be qualified to work in this facility, a successful applicant must be a U.S. Person, as defined in those regulations, and able to supply evidence of that qualification prior to starting work or be authorized to receive controlled information under a specific license or permission from the relevant government agency. The U.S. export control regulations define a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), and certain categories of Asylees and Refugees.</p>
