<p>Employment to begin as of: 2025-2026 School Year</p> <p>Position Title: High School Social Studies Teacher</p> <p>Grade Level: 9-12</p> <p>Teaching Certificate Required: Indiana Teaching License in Secondary Social Studies</p> <p>Previous Teaching Experience Required: None</p> <p>General Description of Position Duties: Social Studies teacher for high school social studies courses. Ideally a background or interest in teaching World History.</p> <p>Special Skills, Training or Aptitudes Required or Desire: The applicant should have the desire, passion, and work ethic to be a part of a team. The candidate should also have the ability to work with high school students, parents, and community members. Preferred experience with instructing in a 21st century environment through the integration of instructional technology (SMART Technologies), a classroom learning platform (Canvas), and students with a 1:1 take home device (iPad) is desired.</p> <p>Physical and Mental Efforts:</p> <ul> <li>This position requires a high level of physical and mental endurance </li><li>Sitting in an office/classroom environment, performing tasks on a computer or other technical devices. </li><li>Frequent standing, particularly for sustained periods of time </li><li>Frequent walking, moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one part of the building to another. </li><li>Constantly talking, expressing, or exchanging ideas to colleagues and/or students accurately, loudly, or quickly </li><li>Ability to hear and listen to detailed information through oral communication. </li><li>Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. </li><li>Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. </li><li>Specific vision abilities required include close vision and distance vision. </li><li>Ability to handle and balance multiple demands at the same time. </li><li>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
