<p>We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to fill in as a Leave Replacement for the ESL Teacher at Eleanor Rush Intermediate School. This is a temporary position that will require the candidate to work closely with students, teachers, and parents to ensure the delivery of high-quality education services. The time frame for this position will be August 28, 2025 - January 30, 2026.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Provide direct English language instruction to students identified as Multilingual Learners (MLs), aligned with WIDA standards </li><li>Design and deliver differentiated lessons to support language development in listening, speaking, reading, and writing </li><li>Collaborate with classroom teachers to support language acquisition across content areas </li><li>Adapt and modify instructional materials to meet the needs of MLs at various proficiency levels </li><li>Administer and interpret English language proficiency assessments (e.g., WIDA ACCESS) </li><li>Monitor and document student progress toward English language development goals </li><li>Maintain up-to-date records of language proficiency levels and program services for each ML student </li><li>Communicate regularly with families of MLs, providing updates and language support as needed, and serve as a liaison between ML families and the school </li><li>Support classroom teachers with instructional strategies and scaffolds to promote ML student success </li><li>Participate in school-based teams and meetings related to student support, placement, and progress monitoring </li><li>Organize and maintains a system for accurate and complete record-keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievement and attendance as required by district procedures and applicable laws. </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or related field </li><li>Valid NJ teaching certification in ESL </li><li>Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy, as well as differentiating instruction based upon student learning styles </li><li>Knowledge of elementary school curriculum and concepts </li><li>Knowledge of WIDA standards and assessments </li><li>Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations regarding education and students </li><li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills </li><li>Ability to work independently and as part of a team </li><li>Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment </li><li>Strong organizational and time-management skills </li><li>Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times </li></ul>
