<p>Duties</p> <p>Hinckley-Big Rock CUSD #429 is seeking a collaborative, student-centered leader to serve as Director of Special Education. This position provides strategic leadership, oversight, and compliance management for all special education programs and services across the district.</p> <p>Primary Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Provide leadership and supervision of all special education programs, staff, and services </li><li>Ensure district compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations </li><li>Oversee the development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) & 504 Plans </li><li>Support principals and staff in meeting the diverse needs of students with disabilities </li><li>Manage special education staffing, programming, and budgets </li><li>Facilitate professional development for staff related to special education best practices </li><li>Coordinate with outside agencies, cooperatives, and service providers </li><li>Lead problem-solving and student support processes </li><li>Serve as a resource for families </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with General Administrative endorsement </li><li>Director of Special Education endorsement (or eligibility) </li><li>Successful experience in special education teaching and/or administration </li><li>Strong knowledge of special education law and compliance requirements </li><li>Demonstrated leadership, communication, and organizational skills </li></ul> <p>Salary/Benefits</p> <ul> <li>Salary and benefits commensurate with experience and qualifications </li><li>Hiring range: $75,000-$80,000 </li><li>205-day administrative contract </li></ul> <p>How to Apply</p> <p>To apply, please complete an online application: www.applitrack.com/dekalb/onlineapp/default.aspx.
