<p>Title: Quality & Engineering Manager</p> <p>Position Type: Full-Time/Regular</p> <p>Division: NxEdge</p> <p>Department: Engineering</p> <p>Location: NxEdge - San Carlos and Santa Clara Sites</p> <p>Salary: $165k-$190K</p> <p>Job Summary & Job Duties</p> <p>The Quality & Engineering Manager directs the engineering functions of the facility, managing resources as necessary to ensure the completion of engineering projects and tasks in a manner which best fulfills the organization's safety, quality, delivery, and efficiency goals; overseeing the creation and revision of quality standards for the organization and ensure that its employees and operational procedures meet these standards; as well as championing process-improvement initiatives, to satisfy regulatory and customers' requirements and expectations, with the following responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Champion safety and ensure all employees wear necessary PPE and follow all safety policies. </li><li>Manage the site's Quality Management System, maintain ISO 9001 certification, and ensure compliance to this standard, including preparing for audits. </li><li>Identify areas of opportunity and develop plans for long-term improvements. </li><li>Act as key contact with customers: responsible for ensuring execution of corrective actions and ongoing compliance with customers specifications. </li><li>Prepare performance reports for relevant stakeholders, including management team and customers. </li><li>Review and approve chemical processes on new contracts, review new contracts for feasibility, and communicate with customers as necessary to resolve any processing issues. </li><li>Review and approve all customer-supplied drawings prior to release for production and initiate the appropriate corrective actions with the customer in the event of an error or discrepancy. </li><li>Review and approve vendor instructions for outside processing of manufactured goods. </li><li>Develop procedures and work instructions for the Engineering and Quality Control staffs. </li><li>Oversee the investigation and resolution of customer complaints regarding technical or quality issues. </li><li>Collaborate with external vendors and suppliers to ensure that they meet quality standards. </li><li>Ensure site quality records are current and accurate based on internal processes. </li><li>Oversee product identification and traceability activities. </li><li>Maintain systems at NxEdge for continuous improvement of quality issues (i.e. MRBs, CARs, scrap and quality escapes reported). </li><li>Define inspection criteria based on statistical analysis for all areas of operations. </li><li>Oversee training, skill development, performance evaluation, salary adjustment, and all disciplinary actions for the Engineering staff and Quality staff. </li><li>Making sure employees are taking their breaks & meal periods according CA labor laws. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering or related engineering or science discipline. </li><li>Three years of anodizing or plating experience preferred. </li><li>Demonstrate In-depth understanding of engineering practices, quality control, and customer satisfaction. </li><li>Be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. </li><li>Have good negotiating and problem-solving skills. </li><li>Demonstrate an ability to manage and supervise staff. </li><li>Experience with 6-sigma / DMAIC initiatives. </li><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. </li><li>Sound organizational skills. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Strong background in semiconductor manufacturing processes </li><li>Knowledge of precision machining, coatings, and surface treatments </li><li>Familiarity with materials science, especially metals and coatings used in high-temperature or corrosive environments </li><li>Understanding of cleanroom protocols and contamination control </li><li>Familiarity with ERP systems and manufacturing execution systems (MES) </li><li>Proven experience leading cross-functional engineering or quality teams </li></ul> <p>Enpro is a leading industrial technology company focused on critical applications across many end-markets, including semiconductor, industrial process, commercial vehicle, sustainable power generation, aerospace, food and pharma, photonics and life sciences.
