<p>Job Title: Protection and Control DesignerJob Description</p> <p>Join a dynamic team that connects passion with purpose. As a Protection and Control Designer in the Substation Department, you will play a crucial role in developing electrical construction drawings for substations. Your expertise will be vital in supporting critical engineering initiatives, and you will have the opportunity to mentor lower-level designers.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Create drawings for projects adhering to the latest standards. </li><li>Utilize part naming and numbering conventions, along with file naming and management protocols. </li><li>Use Vault and ProjectWise to track all design modifications and new designs. </li><li>Manage complex projects with minimal supervision. </li><li>Coordinate with other departments involved in design projects. </li><li>Mentor and guide less experienced designers. </li><li>Check and validate project drawings as well as those of peers and subordinates. </li><li>Work under the supervision of Professional Engineers. </li><li>Design and modify single line diagrams, three-line diagrams, AC & DC schematics, wiring diagrams, and cable schedules using AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, and MicroStation. </li><li>Design protection schemes related to breaker controls, line relaying, bus relaying, and both internal and external station communications. </li></ul> <p>Essential Skills</p> <ul> <li>Proficiency in electrical design, schematics, and wiring diagrams. </li><li>Experience with MicroStation and AutoCAD for at least four years. </li><li>Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical. </li><li>Ability to design protection and control schemes. </li></ul> <p>Additional Skills & Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Associate degree in applied science (AAS) in drafting and computer-aided design (CAD), or civil, electrical, or mechanical engineering technology, or equivalent experience and/or education. </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <p>Work in a collaborative environment where you will use technologies such as AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, and MicroStation. The role involves coordinating with multiple departments to ensure project success.
