The successful applicant will contribute to a new BS program in Software Engineering and a growing Computer Science program in conjunction with a partnership with Microsoft and an expanding Engineering School.</p> <p>Key Job Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Teach 24 contact hours per academic year with a 3-credit remission in the first year. </li><li>Primary teaching responsibilities will be in the Computer Science BS with opportunities in the Software Engineering BS programs. </li><li>Candidate may have the opportunity to contribute to a collaborative online M.S. in Cybersecurity, specifically teaching courses related to Network Security and/or Software Security. </li><li>Develop a research program and perform scholarly activities consistent with the university's mission </li><li>Perform institutional service and contribute to the ongoing programmatic development within the Resch School of Engineering </li></ul> <p>Department:</p> <p>Resch School of Engineering</p> <p>Compensation:</p> <p>Competitive compensation commensurate with qualifications and experience</p> <p>This position is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA)</p> <p>Required Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Earned doctorate in Computer Science or closely related field from an accredited institution. ABD candidates will be considered, although an earned doctorate from an accredited institution is a necessary condition for contract renewal. ABD candidates will be contracted as Assistant Professors but transferred into a terminal appointment at the rank of Teaching Professor. Upon degree conferral, the contracted appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor will be reinstated. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>All areas in Computer Science will be considered, however, teaching experience in cybersecurity, machine learning, or artificial intelligence is preferred. </li></ul> <p>Conditions of Appointment:</p> <p>Position is an academic year tenure-track appointment. Applicants must be considered for tenure and promotion in six years although tenure decisions may be at any time. Promotion from Assistant to Associate Professor is simultaneous with tenure. Excellence in teaching, sustained scholarly activity and institutional service are required for retention and promotion. Official transcripts of the highest degree achieved will be required of finalist(s). A criminal conviction</p> <p>investigation will be conducted on the finalist(s).
