This job has no supervisory responsibilities.</p> <p>Responsibilities and Reporting During an Emergency Situation:</p> <p>Essential Employees may be required to work during a declared emergency. Depending on the nature of the emergency, this may require working around the clock for several days on short notice.</p> <p>Non Essential Employees will not be required to work during a declared emergency. The employee's Department Head will determine when the employee will be required to work.</p> <p>Perks and Benefits</p> <ul> <li>Free city-paid employee health coverage, additional for spouse or family </li><li>3 weeks Paid Time Off (sick & vacation) </li><li>13 paid holidays </li><li>Pension plan & optional Deferred Compensation </li><li>City-paid life insurance </li><li>Optional Vision, Dental, and Disability Insurance </li><li>Tuition reimbursement </li><li>On-site Gym facility </li><li>And much more! </li></ul> <p>Duties/Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Responsible for running the end-of-day reports to review daily transactions. </li><li>Responsible for obtaining water meter reads from the AMI system, reporting AMI analytics to department and supervisors, provide reports and analysis from the AMI system, analyze statistical data for trends and indicators to ensure proper and accurate billing. </li><li>Review reports for accuracy before utility/sanitation bills are calculated. </li><li>Responsible for processing of printed bills and ensure they are mailed on a timely basis. </li><li>Run monthly reports to verify balance information and clear for the next month's billing cycle. </li><li>Responsible for generating and completing the work orders. </li><li>Enter and balance sanitation weight tickets. </li><li>Preparation and maintenance of the annual Solid Waste tax roll. </li><li>Assist with the Utilities/Solid Waste audit. </li><li>This position requires regular and reliable attendance and the employee's physical presence at the workplace. </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES</p> <ul> <li> <p>Knowledge of bookkeeping and clerical accounting principles, practices, and terminology.</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of modern office procedures, methods, and equipment including computers, typewriters, printers, copiers, and telephone answering devices.</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of principles of business letter writing and basic report preparation.</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of Mathematical principles.</p> </li><li> <p>Skill in the methods, procedures, practices, and terminology used in billing and financial record keeping work.</p> </li><li> <p>Skill in computer applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, and statistical databases.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships not limited to employees, customers, and outside vendors.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to learn basic programs and services of the organization relating to service fees, billing, and account maintenance.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to perform responsible bookkeeping, clerical accounting.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to understand the organization and operation of the City and of outside agencies as necessary to assume assigned responsibilities.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to understand, interpret and apply general and specific administrative and departmental policies and procedures.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to exercise tact and judgment in responding to inquiries and resolving complaints and problems.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to make mathematical computations rapidly and accurately.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to find and reconcile discrepancies in balancing accounts.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to maintain records and reports.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to operate and use modern office equipment including a computer and various software packages.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to operate 10-key calculator by touch.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work under steady pressure with frequent interruptions and a high degree of public contact by phone or in person.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.</p> </li></ul> <p>Minimum Requirements</p> <ul> <li>High School diploma or GED. </li><li>Two years' experience in utilities billing or related work, or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that provides the required knowledge and abilities. </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands and Working Conditions</p> <p>This work typically requires the following physical activities to be performed.</p> <ul> <li> <p>Balancing - color, depth perception, field of vision.</p> </li><li> <p>Visual Acuity 3 - determine accuracy, neatness, observe facilities/structures.</p> </li><li> <p>Lifting - raising objects from lower to higher position, moving objects side to side, using upper extremities, back.</p> </li><li> <p>Mental Acuity -
