<p>Under the general direction and supervision of the Associate Dean, the Southeast Nebraska Career Academy Partnership (SENCAP) Coordinator is embedded in assigned high schools to enhance dual enrollment and support the transition of high school students to SCC.</p> <p>This role will develop relationships and partners with SCC divisions, 9-12 teachers, and SCC faculty and staff to orient students, assist registration, advise placement, instruct technology, and instructor recruitment, and answer questions that ultimately promote student learning and success. The SENCAP Coordinator represents SCC's Dual Credit Partnerships programs at assigned high schools. The coordinator supports the organization of Dual Credit courses, SENCAP Faculty Liaisons, and Career Explorers. This is a full-time regular position.</p> <p>Essential Functions</p> <p>Program Management</p> <ul> <li>Meets with students to provide ongoing, individualized support designed to help students successfully transition to college, persist, and achieve their education and career goals for matriculation. </li><li>Assists with orienting students to SCC online resources, including Self-Services, My Hub, CANVAS, Email, OneDrive, etc. </li><li>Provides interpretation support of placement and career assessments to assist students in identifying career interests, goals, academic preparedness, skills, and talents. </li><li>Provides students with specific and accurate information about academic support programs and services such as Career Services, Learning Support Services, Disability Support Services, First Year Experience, etc. </li><li>Assists students individually and in group settings with the registration processes, including initial planning, adding, dropping, or withdrawing from classes at their assigned high schools. </li><li>Collaborates and communicates with 9-12 faculty, counselors, and administration to increase dual enrollment and the number of students who transition/matriculate to SCC. </li><li>Represents SCC at assigned school district-sponsored events. </li><li>Participates in various departmental activities, including but not limited to staff meetings, orientations, committee meetings, professional development, and outreach activities. </li><li>Consistently and dependably attends work, activities, and functions as scheduled or assigned. </li><li>Work with the Administrative Director in coordination and planning of dual-credit courses delivered onsite, hybrid, or online in assigned regions. This may include identifying classroom space and ensuring appropriate technology is available to offer courses. </li><li>Advise and assist students in transitioning from high school to college. Provide assistance with coursework and support student efforts to make certain the college course requirements and dual credit requirements are met. </li><li>Will attend Career Days, Discover Days, New Student Welcome, and other events for dual credit students to support interest and matriculation. </li><li>Support and attend job fairs for dual credit students in their assigned high schools. </li><li>Provide instructor names to schools as needed for the Nebraska Department of Education. </li><li>Be a point of contact for instructor recruitment for the dual credit program. </li></ul> <p>SCC Strategic Goals</p> <ul> <li>Track students for matriculation, attendance, and other support tools for matriculation, retention, and continuation in the program. </li><li>Will generate success stories/pictures to support the marketing of the program. </li><li>Assists students in applying for SCC scholarships. </li><li>Maintains organized student follow-up to guide them to achieve college and academic success. </li><li>Meets with students to provide ongoing, individualized support designed to help students successfully transition to college, persist, and achieve their education and career goals for matriculation. </li><li>Provides accurate, timely, and meaningful reports to assess program outcomes. </li></ul> <p>Collaboration with other Departments</p> <ul> <li>Serves as liaison with SCC Partnerships to enhance approval and development of concurrent enrollment course sections; the registration of students; the billing and sponsoring of tuition; and the grading in Dual Credit classes. </li><li>Serve as a liaison between SCC and K-12 personnel regarding student progress to ensure a successful transition into the SENCAP program. Monitor student progress and attendance, and communicate accordingly with K-12 schools. Knowledgeable about available student services and resources such as tutoring, testing, and advising through SCC. </li><li>Serve as an SCC point of contact for students' questions related to Dual Credit programming. </li><li>Provides students with specific and accurate information about academic support programs and services such as Career Services, Learning Support Services, Disability Support Services, First Year Experience, etc. </li><li>Assists with orienting students to SCC online resources, including Self-Services, My Hub, CANVAS, Email, One Drive, etc. </li><li>Will attend Career Days, Discover Days, New Student Welcome, and other events for dual credit students to support interest and matriculation. </li><li>Attend In-service each semester and campus-wide events. </li><li>Works collaboratively with staff/faculty in SCC departments and services to understand processes, systems, current trends, programming, and services to resolve student issues. </li><li>Partner with other areas in Extending Learning, Admissions, and other departments. </li><li>Will share a weekly schedule with the department. </li><li>Can assist Learning Centers/campuses with registration. </li></ul> <p>Promote a Culture of Belonging</p> <p>Support and promote an environment of belonging where all students, faculty members, and college employees feel welcomed, valued, and empowered to contribute. Foster a community where each individual and their varied perspectives enrich the educational experience and create a safe and respectful environment. Support the College's policies and programming related to access, fair employment, and equal opportunities for all.</p> <p>Marginal Functions</p> <ul> <li>Visit participating SENCAP high school sites as required by the Associate Dean. </li><li>Attend planned department meetings. </li><li>Participate in professional development opportunities. </li><li>Represent the college to external organizations as requested. </li><li>Communicate regularly with the Associate Dean and Administrative Director. </li><li>Demonstrate a willingness to be a continuous learner and be open to suggestions, new processes, technology, and new ideas. </li><li>Knowledge of both secondary and post-secondary education systems. </li><li>Understand and appreciate Southeast Community College's mission. </li><li>May be required to perform associated duties, functions, or assignments in other divisions/programs/areas as required. </li><li>Perform other College functions and duties as assigned. </li><li>Must be able to work varied days, hours, shifts, locations, and campuses as required. Work schedules (hours/days/work location) are scheduled by Southeast Community College based on the needs of the College. Work hours, shifts, days, and work locations may vary depending on the needs of Southeast Community College and are subject to modification. Emergency or scheduled special activities may require hours outside of the regular workweek. </li></ul> <p>Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Possesses strong people/relational skills and the ability to work with a variety of professionals, including educators, businesses, higher education, parents, and students. </li><li>Knowledge of college-wide functions, particularly concurrent enrollment, student affairs, financial aid, academic affairs, college records, enrollment services, etc. </li><li>Knowledge of articulation agreements and processes with various colleges and universities. </li><li>Proficient knowledge of MS Office software and other standard software, and comfortable with new technology. </li><li>Easily navigate SCC's Learning Management System (LMS) to support student success and instructional materials. Highly proficient in Microsoft Suite products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and have the right skills and intuitive knowledge to operate modern devices effectively. </li><li>Knowledge and compliance with Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) laws. </li><li>Outstanding customer service skills. </li><li>Exhibit strong planning and organizational skills. </li><li>Ability to manage multiple tasks and work well with minimal supervision. </li><li>Manage and maintain confidential information. </li><li>Demonstrate a positive and professional attitude. </li><li>Ability to effectively work with people from different socio-economic backgrounds, cultures, and ethnicities. </li><li>Understand the importance and relevance of education and careers and be willing to promote the integration of career opportunities for students in K-12 schools. </li><li>A highly motivated individual who is both energetic and enthusiastic. </li><li>Flexible in working with various individuals and groups of people. Ability to alter work schedule to accommodate the needs of the students and schools that are assigned. </li><li>Strong written and spoken communication skills and ability to relate and collaborate with administration, faculty, and staff at both high school and college levels. </li><li>Ability to make effective and meaningful connections and network with individuals, organizations, schools, businesses, etc. </li><li>Ability to lift and carry up to (50) fifty pounds for short distances. </li><li>Ability to communicate effectively in writing, in person, and on the phone. </li><li>Ability to use basic computer skills. </li><li>The individual must possess the above skills and abilities to be able to explain and demonstrate that the individual can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Education or related field, or an Associate's Degree plus three years of experience in higher education. </li><li>Two (2) years of full-time experience in advising, counseling, career services, admissions, teaching, administration, or another related field. </li><li>A valid driver's license and the ability to qualify for auto insurance coverage in order to drive College vehicles. </li></ul> <p>Desired Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Experience with career education programs, dual credit, or working with businesses and higher education programs is preferred but not required. </li></ul> <p>Salary</p> <p>$55,267 per year</p> <p>Benefits</p> <p>SCC BEN Dollars - Eligible Employees: Full-time status. Regular employees with an FTE of 0.75 or greater will be eligible for SCC Ben Dollars. All employees will be required to elect a health insurance option. If the cost of insurance coverage selected by an employee exceeds the SCC Ben Dollars available, all additional costs will be withheld from the employee's paycheck. Any SCC Ben Dollars that the employee does not elect to use for the purchase of dependent health and dental insurance will be paid to the employee in cash at $0.93 per $1.00 benefit dollar. All amounts paid are subject to withholding for income and employment taxes, but not subject to the College's contribution toward the Retirement Savings Plan - Group Retirement Account (GRA).</p> <p>Schedule</p> <p>Normal working hours for this full-time regular position are scheduled between 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, requiring a minimum of a 40-hour work week, based on a 260-day work calendar. Scheduled special activities, emergencies, or temporary schedule changes may require hours outside of the regular workday or workweek.</p>
