<p>Duties and Responsibilities: The following duties are typical of those performed by employees in this job title; however, employees may perform other related duties, and not all duties listed are necessarily performed by each employee in the job title:</p> <ul> <li>Operate company trucks on public roads to transport, load and unload material to EMS customers </li><li>Operate vehicle in compliance with all local, state, federal and company rules and in accordance with generally accepted practices of safe driving </li><li>Complete a driver's logbook and vehicle inspection report according to DOT regulations </li><li>Inspect vehicle and required equipment to determine safe operating conditions prior to departure </li><li>Review shipping papers for nature of load and special handling requirements if any </li><li>Check load to determine if it's properly secured and safe </li><li>Backup truck to loading platform; turn narrow corners; negotiate narrow passageways; keep truck and trailer under control particularly on wet or icy highways </li><li>Wear safety equipment when handling material </li><li>Safely load and unload cargo as required </li><li>Maintain the truck in a clean and safe manner </li><li>Keep tarp clean, neat, folded, and secured on trailer </li><li>Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Class "A" CDL driver's license </li><li>Preferably 3 years of experience driving a 53ft tractor trailer </li><li>No more than one major traffic violation within the past 5 years </li><li>Lift and carry heavy material at least 75 lbs.; climb on and off a flatbed trailer </li><li>Perform basic math </li><li>Read a tape measure </li><li>This is a fulltime position requiring 1 to 2 overnight stays per week. 4 Day work week and home on weekends. </li></ul> <p>We are committed to providing a clean work environment with masks, hand sanitizer, and gloves.</p> <p>WE ARE A DRUG FREE WORKPLACE AND AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER</p>
