<p>The U.S. Meat Animal Research Center (USMARC) is a 34,000-acre facility near Clay Center, NE. All work performed at USMARC supports research that is focused on solving high priority problems for the U.S. beef, sheep, and swine industries.</p> <p>As the Groundskeeper, you will:</p> <ul> <li>Maintain company property and surrounding area. </li><li>Cut grass, trim, rake leaves, clean areas. </li><li>Plant grass, flowers, trees and shrubs along with pruning trees and shrubs, using gardening tools. </li><li>Water lawn and shrubs, using hose or by activating fixed or portable sprinkler systems. </li><li>Spray lawn, shrubs and trees with fertilizer, herbicides and insecticides, using hand or automatic sprayer. </li><li>Maintains driveways, parking lots, and walkways by removing debris, litter, snow and ice. </li><li>Spread salt on public passage ways to prevent ice buildup. </li><li>Perform basic maintenance on equipment used. </li><li>Perform routine, repetitive tasks, using standard procedures, tools, materials, equipment or machinery. </li><li>Help maintenance department as needed. </li></ul> <p>Position requires the ability to read and follow directions; operate industrial lawn equipment; and lift up to 50 pounds.</p> <p>At the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, we're proud to be consistently recognized by Forbes as a top employer, known for our welcoming and supportive work environment, commitment to professional growth, and outstanding benefits.
