<p>Kforce's client, a leading regional construction management firm in Lynbrook, NY is seeking a Project Accountant. Please note this is not a remote role.</p> <p>Key Tasks:</p> <ul> <li>Project Accountant will guide employees performing accounting, billing, payables, payroll, general ledger, budgeting, and financial reporting duties </li><li>Ensure timely and accurate preparation, analysis and presentation of financial reports, statements, and tax returns/filings on a weekly/monthly, quarterly, and annual basis </li><li>Direct financial planning and budgeting for assigned entities </li><li>Analyze financial data and build financial models for expected operations to identify development opportunities </li><li>Develop and enforces internal control policies, guidelines, and procedures </li><li>As a Project Accountant, you will direct the implementation of new financial systems and procedures </li><li>Act as primary liaison for financial audits with external CPA firm, and correspondence with state agencies and other external parties </li><li>Ensure compliance with federal and state contract cost accounting principles and work with various departments to assist providing information </li><li>Review all financial statements and ledgers and work with the accounting staff to clear up discrepancies* Degree in Accounting </li><li>5+ years of related construction accounting management experience </li><li>Experience in managing day-to-day functions and leading accounting personnel </li><li>Advanced level Excel skills required including pivot tables, v-lookups </li><li>Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work with all levels of the organization </li><li>Excellent organizational and time management skills with attention to details and proactive approach </li><li>Strong oral and written communication skills, including excellent presentation skills </li><li>Ability to -think outside the box- while identifying problems and developing creative solutions </li><li>Experience with Sage is preferred </li></ul>
