If you want to make an impact on a global scale, come make a difference at Fiserv.</p> <p>Job Title</p> <p>Senior Mainframe Performance Engineer (z/OS)</p> <p>About your role:</p> <p>You will be responsible for analyzing, monitoring, and optimizing the performance of mainframe systems. This role involves identifying performance bottlenecks, implementing improvements, and ensuring the efficient operation of critical business applications meet SLAs and KPIs.</p> <p>What you'll do:</p> <ul> <li>Conduct detailed analysis of mainframe performance metrics to identify areas for improvement as well as generating detailed reports on system performance and present findings to management while interpreting performance data and identify bottlenecks or problems </li><li>Continuously monitor mainframe systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability </li><li>Develop and implement strategies to enhance system performance, including tuning and configuration adjustments </li><li>Work closely with systems programmers, administrators, and other IT staff to troubleshoot and resolve performance issues while maintaining comprehensive documentation of performance issues, solutions, and system changes </li><li>Conduct regular system audits to ensure compliance with performance standards and identify potential issues. </li><li>Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing to ensure system resilience </li><li>Work collaboratively with systems programmers, system administrators, development programmers and other IT staff to ensure efficient operation of the mainframe system </li><li>Document mainframe capacity and performance issues and implement procedures for system performance optimization </li></ul> <p>Experience you'll need to have:</p> <ul> <li>10+ years' experience with the Mainframe </li><li>6+ years of experience in mainframe performance analysis and optimization. </li><li>Strong analytical skills, proficiency in performance monitoring tools (e.g., RMF, OMEGAMON, SYSVIEW, MAINVIEW), and excellent problem-solving abilities. </li><li>Bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education, military, and work experience </li></ul> <p>Experience that would be great to have:</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of key subsystems such as DB2, CICS, MQ, HSM, DASD and Tape devices, Catalogs, Coupling Facilities, and Sysplexes </li><li>Relevant certifications in mainframe technologies and performance management </li><li>In-depth knowledge of mainframe architecture, operating systems (e.g., IBM z/OS), and job control languages (e.g., JCL) </li><li>Mainframe languages such as Assembler, Cobol, SAS, REXX </li><li>Linux, z/OCF and CP4D is a plus </li></ul> <p>How you'll work:</p> <ul> <li>This role requires use of a computer and audio equipment </li></ul> <p>#mainframe</p> <p>#mainframecomputing</p> <p>#zOS</p> <p>#IBM</p> <p>#WeAreMainframe</p> <p>#LI-CD1</p> <p>Salary Range</p> <p>$124,300.00 - $213,100.00</p> <p>These pay ranges apply to employees in New Jersey, New York and California.
