<p>Job Description</p> <p>Timmons Group is currently seeking a Construction Administrator for our Water Infrastructure Group to serve our Richmond, VA office. Projects will generally be located in central Virginia and consist of water and wastewater pipelines, pumping stations, storage tanks, and treatment facility components.</p> <p>The Construction Administrator will participate in preconstruction design review and manage the construction phase after design approval, working under the guidance of the engineering Project Manager. Projects may be implemented through traditional design-bid-build or alternative delivery such as design-build. This role may involve working with sensitive information and coordinating with contractors, inspectors, utility owners, property owners, local and state agencies.</p> <p>This role is responsible for managing all construction-related documentation and handling communication with stakeholders. The Construction Administrator requires independent decision making.</p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Prompt, concise, and accurate communication with Project Stakeholders and Project Manager </li><li>Apply technical knowledge toward collaborative problem-solving in a team environment </li><li>Review project plans for constructability and offer suggestions to the Timmons Group Project Manager </li><li>Cost estimating and review of contractor's pricing and bid tabulations </li><li>Construction schedule building and review of contractors' proposed schedules </li><li>Facilitate and attend preconstruction meetings, preinstallation meetings, progress meetings, and other construction project related meetings </li><li>Maintain, review, and respond as necessary to all project documents including requests for information (RFI's), material submittals, as-built plans, contractor pay requisitions, and change orders </li><li>Visit construction sites and document pertinent observations for compliance with Contract Documents </li><li>Proactively identify and resolve field construction issues </li><li>Ensure construction activities comply with water and wastewater industry standards, regulations, and owner and permit requirements </li><li>Coordinate with regulatory agencies on water and wastewater compliance and inspections </li><li>Coordinate with third party inspectors and material testing firms and review and interpret reports </li><li>Monitor and document testing and commissioning of water and wastewater systems and components </li><li>Prepare punch lists and project closeout documentation </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>Skills/Requirements of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Associate's or Bachelor's degree in an engineering or construction related field, with 5+ years of training and experience with an emphasis in construction of water and wastewater infrastructure preferred </li><li>Professional registration and certifications are beneficial, but not required </li><li>Highly organized, detail-oriented, with effective written and oral communication skills </li><li>Experience managing schedules and documentation across multiple construction projects simultaneously </li><li>Must be able to read, understand, and interpret water and wastewater plans, specifications, process and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and shop drawing submittals. </li><li>Understanding of state and federal safety, environmental, and water/wastewater guidelines and regulations </li><li>Familiarity with permitting processes, regulatory compliance, and reporting for water and wastewater projects </li><li>Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Project, and AutoCAD Civil 3D </li><li>Familiarity with construction management software such as Procore </li><li>A current working knowledge of prevailing market rates for major cost items for water and wastewater construction projects is a plus </li><li>Valid driver's license required </li></ul>
