<p>Hurco is looking for an Automation Applications Engineer to join our team at our Indianapolis facility.</p> <p>The Automation Applications Engineer is responsible for providing applications support, training and installation of automation products as well as writing programming for product improvement and customization.</p> <p>Primary Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Provide technical support to sales, marketing and service for applications dealing with complex knowledge of company product functionality, performance and operating system. </li><li>Provides technical support to customer service, full service distributors, and OEM's. </li><li>Makes presentations on all aspects of product. Creates presentation aids and improves the quality of such in regard to competitive analysis. Demonstrates machine operation and performance. Prepares demonstration programs, tools, and aids consistent with customer needs. </li><li>Assists sales and service staff in assessing potential application of company products to meet customer needs. Prepares detailed specifications with acknowledgment of Sales Department, for attachment to purchase order, and/or use in technical negotiation. Negotiates all technical aspects of products and implements acceptance procedure. </li><li>Creates training materials, including all technical documentation and user guides. Trains and instructs customer service, OEM's, and full-service distributors on-site and at home facility. Responsible for insuring product training materials are accurate and up-to-date. </li><li>Interfaces with design and manufacturing engineers on current product quality, configuration, and maintenance problems. </li><li>Supports customer, full-service distributor, and customer service on-site and by telephone assistance. </li><li>Support consists of solving application problems and other complicated problems. </li><li>Provides follow-up support in assisting and training customer service and distributor's service, and in disseminating technical information on specific applications. </li><li>Responds to customer service requests for solving application and product issues, including on-site development and customization. </li></ul> <p>Job Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>2- or 4-year technical degree or equivalent with experience </li><li>Experience with robotics is a plus </li><li>Machinist or Applications experience with CNC mills and lathes </li><li>Must possess skills necessary to be an effective trainer with customers as well as sales and service personnel </li><li>Some travel required </li></ul>
