<p>Roxbury Community College (RCC) is a public institution of higher education offering associate degrees, certificate programs and lifelong learning opportunities to the Greater Boston community. Our annual report is available at Clery Report.</p> <p>Job Description:</p> <p>Roxbury Community College is seeking an experienced Full Stack Developer to lead the design, development, and maintenance of our web infrastructure, including the public website and the MyRCC student portal. This hands-on role oversees the full software development lifecycle, from planning and coding to deployment, testing, and post-launch support.</p> <p>The ideal candidate is fluent in front-end and back-end technologies, with strong SQL skills and experience building clean, scalable systems. This role includes responsibility for integrating web applications with enterprise platforms such as Jenzabar, managing automated testing workflows, optimizing performance, and ensuring accessibility <p>Date: May 2025</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <p>Web & Application Development</p> <ul> <li>Design, develop, and maintain responsive, dynamic web applications and digital platforms. </li><li>Write clean, scalable code using HTML, CSS, JavaScript (React/Angular), and back-end technologies (Node.js, PHP, Python, or Ruby). </li><li>Continuously improve performance, usability, and accessibility across platforms. </li></ul> <p>Systems Integration</p> <ul> <li>Develop and maintain API-based integrations between web platforms, ERP systems (e.g., Jenzabar), and third-party applications. </li><li>Ensure consistent data flow and system interoperability. </li></ul> <p>Database Management</p> <ul> <li>Manage and query relational databases using SQL. </li><li>Administer, query, and maintain databases using SQL, ensuring data accuracy, security, and performance. </li><li>Troubleshoot and resolve backend issues, focusing on system reliability and efficiency. </li></ul> <p>Technical Leadership & Portal Administration</p> <ul> <li>Serve as the technical owner and primary content administrator of the MyRCC student portal, ensuring it remains up-to-date, intuitive, and functional. </li><li>Implement enhancements and manage daily operations of the portal. </li></ul> <p>Accessibility, Security & Compliance</p> <ul> <li>Implement best practices for ADA-compliant web accessibility and data privacy. </li><li>Stay informed about evolving standards and adjust systems accordingly to ensure RCC's digital platforms are secure, inclusive, and compliant. </li></ul> <p>Collaboration & Support</p> <ul> <li>Partner with IT, faculty, and staff to gather requirements, troubleshoot issues, and deliver functional, user-centered digital solutions. </li><li>Contribute to RCC's digital transformation initiatives to improve operational efficiency and student engagement. </li><li>Mentor junior developers and collaborate with IT and academic departments on digital transformation efforts. </li></ul> <p>Documentation & Continuous Improvement</p> <ul> <li>Maintain thorough technical documentation, including workflows, architecture, and support materials. </li><li>Evaluate new technologies and recommend tools to support the evolving needs of the college. </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <p>Required Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in computer science, Web Development, Information Technology, or a related field?or equivalent professional experience. </li><li>Minimum of 5 years of experience in full stack development, ideally in a higher education or similarly complex organizational setting. </li><li>Proficiency in front-end technologies including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and modern JavaScript frameworks such as React or Angular. </li><li>Strong back-end development experience using server-side languages such as Node.js, PHP, Python, or Ruby. </li><li>Solid understanding of relational databases and experience working with SQL for database development, optimization, and reporting. </li><li>Familiarity with integrating third-party services and web applications, including hands-on experience working with or designing APIs. </li><li>Experience managing the full software development lifecycle?from planning and development through testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance. </li><li>Excellent troubleshooting skills with a track record of debugging, resolving performance issues, and implementing improvements in live environments. </li><li>Strong technical documentation skills and an ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including non-technical stakeholders. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Prior experience working in a higher education IT or digital environment. </li><li>Experience with Modern Campus and Jenzabar systems. </li><li>Familiarity with web governance and content management systems (CMS). </li><li>Understanding of educational software systems and institutional portals. </li><li>Experience implementing WCAG-compliant accessibility standards. </li><li>Ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable digital solutions. </li></ul> <p>Additional Information:</p> <p>Compensation: $75,000.00-120,000.00</p> <p>Employees of Roxbury Community College
