<p>Construction Teacher</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Appropriate certifications and training needed in construction and maintenance trades. </li><li>Aptitude and experience in electrical, HVAC, welding, and construction related fields. </li><li>Effective written and oral communication skills. </li><li>Ability to work in and foster a positive work environment. </li><li>Classroom management skills and ability to connect with students. </li></ul> <p>Essential Job Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Reports to the CTAE Director/CEO of the Hart College & Career Academy and the Principal at HCHS. </li><li>Implements a program of instruction that adheres to the system philosophy, goals, and objectives as outlined by the strategic plan for the Hart County Charter System. </li><li>Makes purposeful and appropriate lesson plans that provide for effective teaching strategies and maximizes time on specific tasks. </li><li>Successfully able to implement a program of study designed to meet the needs of all students. </li><li>Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning by employing a variety of appropriate teaching strategies. </li><li>Participates in professional learning activities that are required by the HCCA and HCHS. </li><li>Stays up to date with current subject matter and knowledge of the assigned pathway. </li><li>Develops soft skills with students and makes reasonable rules of classroom behavior and appropriate techniques that are consistently enforced. </li><li>Takes necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities. </li><li>Responsibly supervises students during the school day and assigned extra-curricular activities. </li><li>Upholds and enforces administrative procedures and school rules and regulations. </li><li>Maintains appropriate work habits, including regular and punctual attendance and appropriate use of conference, PL activities, and planning time. </li><li>Attends staff, department, and committee meetings as required by the CTAE Director and Principal. </li><li>Respects the confidentiality of records and information regarding students, parents, and teachers in accordance with accepted professional ethics, state, and federal laws. </li></ul>
