Come join RTD on this great journey to be the trusted leader in mobility, delivering excellence and value to our customers and community.</p> <p>RTD Employee Benefits: https://www.rtd-denver.com/careers/benefits</p> <p>(RTD Represented Employee Benefits: Please refer to the Labor Agreement included in the above link for details.)</p> <p>Custodian</p> <p>Duties & Responsibilities:</p> <p>ESSENTIAL:</p> <ul> <li>Employee may be held responsible for any of the following duties as a building custodian, shelter washer or landscape custodian. </li><li>Conducts self in an appropriate manner as a representative of RTD, uses sound judgment at all times, works effectively in a diverse environment, works safely on the job, respects co-workers and assures the quality of services to all customers both internal and external. </li><li>Area trash pickup including trash removal and emptying of dumpsters. </li><li>Operate facilities maintenance vehicles. </li><li>Snow removal utilizing shovels, power equipment, and pick-up trucks fitted with show plows. </li><li>Clean and stock restrooms. </li><li>Sweep grounds parking, and walk areas. </li><li>Replace and clean fixtures of various types of lamps. </li><li>Scrub maintenance inspection pits, shop walls and floors. </li><li>Wash, buff and wax floors using machinery correctly. </li><li>Clean carpets using wet or dry vacuum. </li><li>Dust office and public areas including but not limited to ceiling vents, blinds, stairwells and elevators. </li><li>Wash windows as required. </li><li>Drive specified route to facilities to be cleaned. </li><li>Wash shelters using pressure washer. </li><li>Spot clean shelters including graffiti removal. </li><li>Communicate with the public in a polite and tactful manner. </li><li>Control weeds chemically, mechanically or manually; mulches plant beds and planter boxes. Aerate lawns, lay sod, re-seed areas and apply fertilizer. </li><li>Plant, water, and feed flowers, trees and shrubs. Prune trees and shrubs. </li><li>Mow and trim all lawn, open fields and other RTD properties. </li><li>Reset and replace wheel stops in parking areas. </li><li>Operates sweepers and scrubbers at the division to clean floors. </li><li>Paints utilizing brushes and rollers as directed. </li></ul> <p>OTHER:</p> <ul> <li>Complete special projects and assignments as directed. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Must possess a valid Colorado "R" driver's license . No DUI, DWI, or reckless driving in the past 5 years </li><li>Must obtain a forklift operator license within 1 year. </li><li>Demonstrate knowledge of and willingness to act in accordance with safety policies and procedures and environmental guidelines. </li><li>Ability to work safely with all chemicals, demonstrating the ability to read and comprehend labels and mix chemicals in the correct ratios. </li><li>Knowledge and experience in industrial cleaning procedures. </li><li>Knowledge of proper operating procedures and maintenance of all equipment, including but not limited to industrial cleaning and landscaping equipment. </li><li>Willingness to work flexibly in terms of schedule, location and projects. </li><li>Must be a self-starter, able to solve problems and work with minimal supervision. </li><li>Ability to communicate in a polite and tactful manner. </li><li>Demonstrate physical ability to perform the job, which may require working off a ladder/lift, the ability to lift up to 50 pounds or physical strength and endurance. </li></ul> <p>We are considering all applications for this position up until the position close date of May 15, 2025.
