ALAs are responsible for staffing the front desk, assisting with administrative tasks, helping residents with keys/access, sorting mail, providing exceptional customer service, performing health and safety checks, serving on-call rotations, and other duties as assigned.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Staff the main customer service desk in the Apartments Community Center. </li><li>Answer questions from residents, provide guidance/directions, and assist with the safety and security of the community. </li><li>Assist with mail and package delivery by logging packages into our system and releasing them to the residents. </li><li>Perform health and safety checks. </li><li>Serve on week long on-call rotations. </li><li>Assist with various administrative, facility, and operational tasks within the building. </li><li>Assist residents and staff with key access and complete key audits daily. </li><li>Promote an inclusive and welcoming environment for all students. </li><li>Review, understand, and uphold all items outlined in the Apartment & Residence Hall Policies & Procedures, and the Student Code of Conduct. </li></ul> <p>COMPETENCIES:</p> <ul> <li>Adaptability </li><li>Ability to Learn </li><li>Integrity </li><li>Service Orientation </li><li>Work Standards </li><li>Technical/Professional Knowledge </li></ul> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Maintain a minimum semester GPA of 2.5 and a cumulative GPA of 2.5 throughout employment as a Desk Assistant. </li><li>Be enrolled as a full-time student (12 hours undergraduate; 9 hours graduate). </li><li>Complete and be expected to pass a criminal background check. </li><li>Have a positive financial, academic, and student conduct status with Housing, Dining, and Residence Life and the University of Wyoming. </li><li>Be available for training sessions, desk scheduling, and monthly staff meetings. </li><li>Be a strong team player willing to cover/trade shifts as needed and support the overall mission of the residential community. </li></ul> <p>DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <p>Previous desk assistant or resident assistant experience.</p> <p>REQUIRED APPLICATION MATERIALS:</p> <p>Complete the online application.
