<p>Battle Creek, MI | Full-Time | Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM</p> <p>Starting at $170,000+ DOE</p> <p>About Us</p> <p>Goodwill Industries of Central Michigan's Heartland (GICMH) is a mission-driven nonprofit dedicated to strengthening communities through donated goods, retail operations, and workforce development programs. We are seeking an experienced, strategic financial leader to help drive organizational stability, growth, and long-term success.</p> <p>Position Overview</p> <p>The Chief Financial Officer & VP of Finance provides executive leadership over Finance and Information Technology, ensuring sound financial planning, accurate reporting, and strong internal controls. This role partners closely with the CEO and senior leadership team to support organizational goals and maintain a service-focused mindset across all departments.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Lead and manage all Finance and Information Technology Department operations. </li><li>Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. </li><li>Monitor department spending and recommend cost-control measures. </li><li>Direct cash management, debt strategies, and investment activities. </li><li>Review and approve grant applications, financial reports, and contract pricing. </li><li>Prepare for and oversee the annual audit process. </li><li>Maintain strong bank and vendor relationships. </li><li>Ensure timely filing of federal, state, and local tax reports. </li><li>Provide oversight of payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and reconciliations. </li><li>Supervise IT functions and support organization-wide information systems. </li><li>Serve as Plan Trustee and oversee 401(k) audits and filings. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field (MBA or CPA preferred). </li><li>Minimum 5 years of accounting experience (nonprofit experience preferred). </li><li>At least 3 years of supervisory or leadership experience. </li><li>Strong budgeting, strategic planning, and analytical skills. </li><li>Excellent communication and organizational abilities. </li><li>Proficiency with financial software/systems; strong computer skills. </li><li>Grant and Fundraising experience preferred. </li><li>Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and acceptable driving record. </li></ul>
