<ul> <li>Is knowledgeable of and practices departmental procedures, safety regulations, and adheres to local, state and federal guidelines and follows polices that will effectively maintain programs and operations for Heritage. </li><li>Assists residents in activities of daily living including dressing, toileting, bathing, grooming and oral hygiene in a professional manner, following plans of service for residents set by management team. </li><li>Makes accurate entries and charts according to Heritage policy and procedure. </li><li>Strictly follows SAMM policies and procedures. </li><li>Adheres to Universal Precautions and Infection Control Policies, including following established hand washing procedures, use of appropriate PPE and supplies when handling infectious materials and follows established policies governing the use/disposal of PPE and disposal of infectious wastes. </li><li>Has a competent understanding of all chemicals and has been trained to use them in accordance with standards. </li><li>Immediately reports all accidents/incidents to your supervisor, </li><li>Wears and/or uses safety equipment and supplies and uses proper mechanics while performing duties (e.g., back brace, mechanical lifts, etc. when moving or lifting heavy objects). </li><li>Adheres to department working hours and completes assignments within guidelines set by supervisor. </li><li>Demonstrates versatility and/or willingness to cover various functions, shifts, driving, working weekends, holidays, during emergencies and in other positions when necessary. </li><li>Drives Heritage vehicle for errands, transporting, or other uses as directed. </li><li>Develops and maintains a good working rapport with inter-departmental personnel, and other departments within Heritage, to assure that programs can be properly planned and maintained to meet the needs of Heritage. </li><li>Participates in programs designed for in-service education, on the job training and orientation classes. </li><li>Maintains the confidentiality of all resident care information, including protected health information. </li><li>Performs other job-related duties as requested by the Executive Director and/or designee to meet the needs of the residents and the facility </li></ul> <p>PERSONAL CARE AIDE TRAINEE - PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Attend all PCA certification course education and clinical trainings. </li><li>Successfully complete PCA course and certification examination. </li><li>Maintain open communication with the Resident Care Director regarding the health, safety, and environmental status of patients. Report all changes in a timely manner. </li><li>Comply with State/Federal regulatory acts. </li><li>Perform all skills with competency, as indicated on the skills checklist. </li><li>Communicate with the Resident Care Director regarding any case concerns, patient problems, planned time off, or other general schedule changes. </li><li>Complete and submit required documentation (e.g., patient and employee time sheets) accurately and on time. </li><li>Establish and maintain a therapeutic relationship with patients. </li><li>Perform only those tasks as prescribed by the Resident Care Director on the personal care aide plan of care. </li><li>Provide understanding and emotional support to the patient and significant others. </li></ul> <p>Perform all other duties as assigned</p> <p>Certified Personal Care Aide (PCA), Sign-on Bonus Eligible!</p> <ul> <li>High School degree </li><li>Must be certified CNA or HHA. </li><li>Must possess basic computer, telephone and radio skills. </li><li>Must be able to speak the English language in an understandable manner. </li><li>Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds. </li><li>Must have a current MA Driver's License </li></ul> <p>The Personal Care Aide Trainee Program:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to complete the 54-hour Personal Care Aide (PCA) Training Program provided by Heritage. </li><li>Includes classroom curriculum and hands on training. </li><li>Candidates must successfully pass the PCA certification for assisted living within four (4) weeks of their start date. </li><li>A minimum of 12 months of employment is required to receive the PCA certificate. </li><li>Includes on-the-job training, </li><li>Earn while you learn. </li><li>High School degree </li><li>Must possess basic computer, telephone and radio skills. </li><li>Must be able to speak the English language in an understandable manner. </li><li>Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds. </li><li>Must have a current MA Driver's License </li></ul>
