<p>Position Overview</p> <p>The College of Education (COE) at Butler University invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track faculty member in Counselor Education with an expected start date of August 2026. The successful candidate will teach online courses in the CACREP core areas and either the Clinical Mental Health Counseling or School Counseling specialization on a 9-month contract with annual summer teaching expectations for additional compensation. We are specifically seeking a motivated colleague to enhance our rapidly growing online degree programs. This is an on-campus position located at Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Teach 12 credit hours of online courses during fall and spring semesters in addition to variable summer teaching responsibilities annually for additional compensation </li><li>Collaborate with colleagues on the review and revision of online counseling courses </li><li>Advise students regarding academic, clinical, and professional requirements </li><li>Supervise students during clinical fieldwork </li><li>Contribute to building an inclusive learning environment that provides equal opportunity for success to all; ? Provide service to the program, College, University, and professional community. </li></ul> <p>Required qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Earned doctoral degree in Counselor Education and Supervision, preferably from a CACREP-accredited institution, OR Earned doctoral degree in a related field AND employment as a full-time faculty member in a counselor education program for a minimum of one full academic year before July 1, 2013 </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <p>While not everyone will meet all preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:</p> <ul> <li>Experience and expertise with online, asynchronous teaching and learning that fosters strong student engagement and connections with peers and the instructor; </li><li>Ability to support learners from a variety of backgrounds with strong, student-centered instructional methods </li><li>Extensive experience in a specialized area of practice, training method, or treatment approach such as addictions, trauma, motivational interviewing, play therapy, counselor wellness, AI, integrative approaches, etc. </li><li>Interest and experience in the role of faculty field experience coordinator; </li><li>Alignment with the COE Shared Commitments and the mission of Butler University. </li></ul> <p>To apply, candidates must submit:</p> <ul> <li>A letter of application outlining qualifications and interest in the position </li><li>Curriculum vitae </li><li>Names, titles, and contact information of three professional references who can speak to the candidate's excellence as an educator and counselor </li></ul> <p>Screening of applicants will begin on January 12th, and continue until the position is filled.
