You'll lead major components of the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close cycles and ensure high-quality financial reporting in full compliance with U.S. GAAP.</p> <p>This role also partners cross-functionally, supports external audits, strengthens internal controls, and drives process improvements across the organization. If you're detail-oriented, analytical, and motivated to elevate accounting operations, this is an excellent opportunity to make an impact.</p> <p>Location: Corporate Headquarters - Brookfield, CT (on-site; not open to remote)</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Prepare, review, and approve complex journal entries and account reconciliations with complete accuracy and documentation. </li><li>Lead key elements of financial close processes, ensuring timely and accurate results. </li><li>Oversee general ledger accounts (accruals, payroll, prepaids, fixed assets, intercompany) and resolve discrepancies. </li><li>Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal accounting policies; identify opportunities to strengthen reporting quality. </li><li>Serve as a key audit contact, preparing supporting documentation, addressing inquiries, and providing clear explanations of account activity. </li><li>Perform detailed variance and fluctuation analyses and collaborate with stakeholders to drive improvements. </li><li>Partner with Finance, Payroll, HR, Operations, and other teams to ensure aligned and accurate accounting data. </li><li>Maintain strong internal controls and recommend enhancements. </li><li>Lead or support process-improvement initiatives, system upgrades, automation, and documentation updates. </li><li>Mentor junior accounting team members and support knowledge development. </li><li>Contribute to additional projects and responsibilities as needed. </li></ul> <p>Travel: 5-10% globally.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Knowledge, Skills & Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, advanced formulas, data analysis). </li><li>Deep understanding of U.S. GAAP, internal controls, and end-to-end accounting operations. </li><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with the ability to interpret complex financial data. </li><li>High attention to detail and excellent organizational skills. </li><li>Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines. </li><li>Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to partner effectively across functions. </li><li>High integrity and professional judgment when handling sensitive financial information. </li><li>Adaptability to evolving systems, processes, and business needs; comfortable leading change. </li></ul> <p>Experience</p> <ul> <li>8+ years of progressive accounting experience with preferred focus on general ledger and financial close. </li><li>Experience in a mid-size or large corporate environment preferred. </li><li>Background in audit support and collaboration with external auditors strongly preferred. </li><li>Hands-on ERP experience (Oracle, SAP, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.); experience in system upgrades or implementations is a plus. </li><li>Prior mentorship or leadership of junior team members preferred. </li></ul> <p>Education</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field. </li></ul> <p>Compensation & Benefits</p> <ul> <li>Competitive salary + bonus potential </li><li>Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance </li><li>401(k) with company match </li><li>Generous PTO and paid holidays </li><li>Career development and training opportunities </li><li>Collaborative, inclusive workplace culture </li></ul> <p>Equal Opportunity Statement: We are committed to equal employment opportunity regardless of race, color, ancestry, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, gender, gender identity or expression, or veteran status.
