We invite you to join our team!</p> <p>LAFAYETTE SCHOOL DISTRICT</p> <p>JOB DESCRIPTION</p> <p>INSTRUCTIONAL SUPPORT TEACHER</p> <p>DEFINITION: Under the direction of the Director of Special Services, provides instruction to special education students individually and/or general classroom setting.</p> <p>EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:</p> <ul> <li>Provides direct instructional support to students with special needs, individually and/or general classroom setting. </li><li>Provides consultation to staff and parents of special needs students. </li><li>Conducts assessments, develops IEPs and participates in IEP meetings. </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <p>Knowledge of:</p> <ul> <li>District standards and benchmarks. </li><li>District core curriculum. </li><li>Special education regulations. </li><li>A variety of instructional strategies appropriate for different disability types. </li><li>Successful collaboration and co-teaching strategies. </li></ul> <p>Ability to:</p> <ul> <li>Provide special education assessments. </li><li>Write legally compliant and educationally meaningful assessment reports. </li><li>Work in a collaborative relationship with parents, and general and special education staff members. </li><li>Develop and implement a functional behavior plan. </li><li>Provide staff development. </li></ul> <p>Education:</p> <p>Appropriate California teaching credential.</p> <p>Valid CA Education Specialist Instruction Credential - Mild/Moderate Bridge Authorization ELL and Autism Authorization</p> <p>Completed EdJoin Application Letter of Introduction Resume Three Letters of Reference</p>
