<p>Job Title: Project Engineer</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>The project engineer will be responsible for the full life cycle of assigned projects, including conducting studies, assessing risks, developing options, and producing High-Level Feasibility Estimates (HLFEs). This role involves developing project plans that encompass justification, scope, deliverables, risks, budget, and schedule.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Collaborate with design agents, technical experts, and other stakeholders on design and project execution plans. </li><li>Ensure designs meet performance goals and constructability objectives. </li><li>Prioritize the safety of team members, shipyard employees, and contractors during project implementation. </li><li>Ensure projects comply with all local, state, and federal regulations. </li><li>Select and oversee qualified suppliers to implement project work safely and with high quality. </li><li>Ensure the quality and accuracy of contractor deliverables, including designs and technical specifications. </li><li>Manage financial aspects of the project, including budgeting, progress tracking, and contractor payment management. </li></ul> <p>Essential Skills</p> <ul> <li>Project management </li><li>Design </li><li>Mechanical engineering </li><li>Commissioning </li><li>Utilities engineering </li><li>Capital projects </li></ul> <p>Additional Skills & Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>US Citizenship </li><li>BS in Engineering (ABET) </li><li>9 years of relevant experience (less experience required with an MS degree or higher) </li><li>Experience with Capital Projects </li><li>Utility Plant experience </li><li>Commissioning experience </li><li>Experience with pumps, pump systems, and piping (gases, water, oil, gas, etc.) </li><li>Mechanical engineering experience preferred </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <p>The work environment is fully onsite and includes both indoor and outdoor settings within a heavy industrial shipyard.</p> <p>Job Type & Location</p> <p>This is a Contract position based out of Newport News, VA.</p> <p>Pay and Benefits</p> <p>The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $69.00/hr.</p> <p>Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
