<p>Job title</p> <p>Respiratory Therapist</p> <p>Reports to</p> <p>Assistant Clinical Director</p> <p>Supervises</p> <p>None</p> <p>Expectation of Work Hours/classification</p> <p>Part-Time/PRN Hourly Non- Exempt</p> <p>General Expectations</p> <ul> <li>Comply with all applicable company policies, procedures, and patient protocols. </li><li>Comply with all current government regulations and professional standards respecting patient care. </li><li>Develop/maintain technical knowledge of the respiratory products/services provided by Baxter Management and be able to provide information of same to others upon request. </li></ul> <p>Duties and responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Educate patients in proper use and care of respiratory equipment, primarily PAP equipment in both the office and home settings. PAP education/instruction may also be performed as either Virtual (TeleHealth) In-Home or Virtual In-office visits. </li><li>Utilize SleepGlad software for mask fittings according to Baxter Management policies and procedures. </li><li>Inform the physicians and appropriate others of the changes in the patient's condition/status through reports and email, fax and telephone communications. </li><li>Assist in resolving patient therapy and equipment problems. </li><li>Perform troubleshooting and required maintenance checks on PAP related equipment, bag and tag and enter into Brightree according to Baxter Management policy. </li><li>Document/complete timely and accurately all therapy and patient interactions into Brightree along with appropriate paperwork according to Baxter Management policy. </li><li>Assist compliance team with achieving Baxter Management patient compliance goals. </li><li>Maintain PAP pick up rates in accordance with Baxter Management goals. </li><li>Deliver patient care in a professional and courteous manner meeting the customer services standards according to Baxter Management policy. </li><li>Provide patient equipment and supplies according to the physicians' prescription while achieving Baxter Management goals and standards for same equipment and supplies </li><li>Assist with implementation of quality improvement program to meet company and accreditation standards. </li><li>All other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Experience & Qualifications include:</p> <ul> <li>Associates Degree required </li><li>Experience in HME or Home Health industry preferred or equivalent experience in respiratory therapy. </li><li>Effective verbal and written communication skills </li><li>Must carry personal liability car insurance with a minimum limit of $100,000. </li><li>Knowledge of Respiratory Therapy and related HME equipment. </li><li>CRTT, RRT, LPN or RN </li><li>Courteous Customer Service (internally and externally) </li><li>Must love helping People (both internally and externally) </li><li>High level of attention to detail </li><li>Able to manage multiple priorities and close the loop when interrupted </li><li>Must be able to pass background requirements and drug screenings </li><li>Must have valid driver's license with proof of clean driving record </li></ul> <p>Physical requirements</p> <ul> <li>Occasionally lift/move up to 50 lbs </li><li>Ability to stoop, bend over, kneel, sit or stand for extended periods of times as needed to meet customer's needs </li><li>While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms, and talk and hear. The employee is required to sit and stand. </li><li>Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. </li><li>This position requires the ability to drive an automobile </li><li>Must be 21 years of age to comply with company auto insurance regulations. </li></ul> <p>This description is a summary of the functions of this position.
