Each year you can take paid time off to support a cause close to your heart.</p> <p>And what will you do?</p> <p>Summary:</p> <p>The Production Control Supervisor is responsible for coordinating all activities required for the opportune fabrication and delivery of Pre-Engineered Metal Building (PEMB) packages.</p> <p>Provides day-to-day leadership of assigned areas. Supervises employees and maintains safety, quality, efficiency, throughput, and on time performance to schedule. Works with the site management team to stay current with the production and shipping schedule, site initiatives, and company initiatives. Supports initiatives to improve the customers' business. Continually improves all aspects of the assigned area.</p> <p>Core Functions:</p> <ul> <li>Uses data obtained from Sales and Engineering and also historical usage to plan and maintain inventories of raw material in a manner that satisfy the production demand and the company strategy for inventory volumes. </li><li>Works with the purchasing department on long-term material planning and purchases coordinating deliveries as required. Place purchase orders for non-stock materials, hot-rolled shapes, custom-made parts, consumables like weld wire, flux and paint, packaging supplies like lumber and hardware accessories like bolts and nuts. </li><li>Coordinates the execution of cycle counts and annual physical for all controlled inventories. </li><li>Coordinates the fabrication of parts and components and services outside the capabilities of the plant, including outsourced fabrication, rod and cable bracing, galvanizing and special coatings. </li><li>Maintain a production schedule containing all orders and place-holders in engineering and manufacturing backlog. Analyzes Engineering and Manufacturing capacities (including those from outsourcing) to assign realistic ship dates for orders booked. </li><li>Works in coordination with project managers to assign revised ship-dates when customers request changes to original agreements or when the requested ship date cannot be met due issues in Operations. </li><li>Process Engineering data to generate the required reports and data required for the manufacturing operations. Defines the batching and production sequence of 3Plate elements in a manner that promotes process efficiency and maximization of plant capacity. </li><li>Produces and distributes Cam-Data data files, nesting programs, department cut-lists, assemblies labels, and other reports needed for the operation of the plant. </li><li>Works with logistics department to identify and develop carriers. </li><li>Determines the number of loads needed for each order based in product characteristics and historical weight per load data utilizes logistic tools to assign contracts for the transportation of orders using (to the extent that is possible) the lowest cost carrier. </li><li>Maintains direct contact with customers for final/detailed shipping and delivery dates and works with production and shipping personnel to assign pick-up appointments for carriers </li><li>When needed coordinates transportation of goods and raw materials required by the plant. </li></ul> <p>Duties, responsibilities, and activities are not limited to the list above and may change at any time with or without notice</p> <p>Key Measures of Success:</p> <ul> <li>Be detailed and customer oriented. </li><li>Ability to read and interpret fabrication shop and erection drawings. </li><li>Proficient in ERP Systems, Microsoft Office including advanced Excel skills. </li><li>Ability to function well in a high-paced environment. </li><li>Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate </li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills </li><li>Ability to identify deficiencies and troubleshoot. </li><li>Consistently exhibits and displays the company's values of "Own It. Act in Love." </li><li>Own It - Commitment to customer, company, and each other. </li><li>Can Do - Team Player, Open to Change, & Pursuing continuous improvement. </li><li>Act in Love - Treating others with humility, respectfulness, kindness, honesty, patience, and self-control. </li></ul> <p>Education & Experience:</p> <p>Minimum Required:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in business or engineering and a minimum of 2 years of experience in leadership roles in manufacturing operation in the areas of production, logistics, material planning or purchasing and supply chain. </li><li>Equivalent education and work experience, i.e. associate degree and 4 years of experience. </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands & Work Environment:</p> <p>Work is performed in an office environment. This role will routinely utilize standard office equipment to perform the core functions listed in this job description. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies as well as communicate verbally and electronically. The work is primarily sedentary and requires extensive reading to perform the core functions listed in this job description.
