The primary purpose of the position is to provide administrative assistance and support for all functions within the Mobility and Safety Division's Oversize/Overweight Permit Unit and is responsible for the day-to-day management of the administrative and personnel functions of the Unit. This position involves consulting with two (2) managers, four (4) supervisors, eight (8) employees and eleven (11) embedded contractors in carrying out responsibilities. </p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Administer the Oversize/Overweight Escort Vehicle Operator Program </li><li>Validate credentials on applications for House Mover Licenses </li><li>Provide administrative support to Unit staff </li><li>Process all human resources actions for the unit and answer questions relating to human resources </li><li>Review and process all payroll related activities and travel expenses for the unit </li><li>Manage unit purchase requisitions, procurement and fixed assets </li></ul> <p>Management prefers applicants that demonstrates the following:</p> <ul> <li>Experience with standard departmental and unit applications such as Word, Excel, SAP, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access, SADLS, etc. </li><li>Knowledge of the Escort Vehicle Operator Program </li><li>Experience with the state of NC Human Resources policies and training in SAP </li><li>Experience in creating purchase requisitions and fixed asset management </li><li>Experience in customer service and staff training </li></ul> <p>Some state job postings say you can qualify by an "equivalent combination of education and experience."
