<p>Under the general direction and supervision of the Apprenticeship Director, the Apprenticeship Coordinator will be a point of contact for employers, mentors, and apprentices participating in SCC's Registered Apprenticeship Program (RAP). The Apprenticeship Coordinator will assist with recruitment, training, support, and data tracking for business partners and apprentices and will provide education on the registered apprenticeship model to faculty, staff, employers, and communities.</p> <p>The Apprenticeship Coordinator will primarily focus on recruiting, enrolling, and monitoring apprentices and apprentice applicants throughout SCC's 15-county service area as needed. This is a full-time temporary, grant-funded position with an expected end date of June 30, 2026, but may be ended at any time or extended depending on the continued availability of grant funding.</p> <p>Essential Functions</p> <p>Education/Promotional Outreach</p> <ul> <li>Connect with community-based organizations, workforce development boards, industry groups, high schools, SCC faculty and staff, and labor organizations to promote the awareness and expansion of RAP opportunities. </li><li>Assist with planning and execution of presentations and awareness activities such as events for National Apprenticeship Week/Month. </li><li>Engage with high schools to identify new traditional and non-traditional students. </li><li>Work with SCC departments such as SENCAP, Financial Aid, Admissions, etc., to maximize awareness of apprenticeship opportunities for incoming students. </li></ul> <p>Continuous Improvement</p> <ul> <li>Implement continuous improvement processes to ensure apprenticeship programs are effective and continue to meet employer needs, utilizing methods such as employer interviews, surveys, focus groups, or advisor meetings. </li></ul> <p>Support the Establishment of New Apprenticeships and Occupations</p> <ul> <li>Recruit and enroll apprentices in SCC's Registered Apprenticeship Program (RAP), welcoming individuals of all ages, including high school students, traditional college-age students, and adult learners. </li><li>Engage with prospective apprentices to understand their career goals and assist in securing suitable apprenticeship placements. </li><li>Connect apprentices with essential resources, including financial aid, childcare, transportation, tutoring, and housing, to support their success. Conduct check-ins as needed, and at a minimum, on a quarterly basis, to evaluate progress, address challenges, and offer guidance. </li><li>Maintain clear and proactive communication with employers, managers, HR staff, and mentors, offering guidance, answering questions, and providing technical assistance to ensure a seamless apprenticeship experience. </li></ul> <p>Develop Technical Assistance Resources</p> <ul> <li>Research best practices for building apprenticeship programs. Develop educational resources and marketing materials to promote the expansion of SCC's RAP and determine effective ways to share these resources with others. </li><li>Conduct training sessions for employers' designated mentors, equipping them with the tools and guidance needed to effectively support apprentices during on-the-job training. </li><li>Survey apprentices to assess mentor and apprenticeship program effectiveness. </li></ul> <p>Expand Outreach to Enhance Workforce Development Opportunities</p> <ul> <li>Increase outreach efforts to engage individuals of all ages and backgrounds who can benefit from accessible pathways to skilled employment, including high school students, career changers, and those without traditional college degrees. This will include in-person events and virtual engagements. </li></ul> <p>Documentation and Data Management:</p> <ul> <li>Utilize electronic spreadsheets, documents, and technology-based platforms to enter, retrieve, and report on data collected for the RAP. </li></ul> <p>Promote a Culture of Belonging</p> <p>Support and promote an environment of belonging where all students, faculty members, and college employees feel welcomed, valued, and empowered to contribute. Foster a community where each individual and their varied perspectives enrich the educational experience and create a safe and respectful environment. Support the College's policies and programming related to access, fair employment, and equal opportunities for all.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Associate's Degree </li><li>Minimum of four (4) years of experience in business, project management, skilled trades, technical science, human services, or a related field .* </li><li>A Bachelor's degree in a related field plus two (2) years of professional-level work experience in business, project management, skilled trades, technical science, human services, or a related field may be substituted for the requirements above. </li></ul> <p>Zone 5</p>
