<p>Position summary</p> <p>The Warehouse Service Operations & Warehouse Specialist is responsible for managing third-party logistics (3PL) warehouse relationships and serving as the primary escalation point for internal teams regarding warehouse performance, projects, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role also owns service-related operational programs ("service plays") and acts as the subject matter expert (SME) for subcontracting processes, systems, and workflows.</p> <p>This position requires a strong blend of relationship management, operational expertise, and cross-functional collaboration.</p> <p>Essential tasks of the position</p> <p>Warehouse & Service Provider Relationship Management</p> <ul> <li>Serve as the primary point of contact for all warehouse and service provider partners </li><li>Establish and standardize warehouse KPIs for quarterly performance reviews </li><li>Lead regular business reviews with warehouse and service partners to drive accountability, address performance gaps, and implement corrective actions and best practices </li><li>Partner with procurement, logistics, and operations teams to ensure alignment on contracts, service expectations, and performance metrics </li><li>Conduct market research, initiate RFP processes, and evaluate potential warehouse partners (may require occasional travel) </li><li>Support identification, evaluation, and onboarding of new subcontract partners (may require occasional travel) </li><li>Develop and maintain strong relationships with packaging suppliers to support operational efficiency, service quality, and cost objectives. </li><li>Develop cost analyses for new warehouse partners, service programs, and operational opportunities to support pricing and decision-making </li><li>Analyze expected, actual, and market rates for warehouse, repack, and tolling costs to support accurate standard cost maintenance and financial transparency </li><li>Support execution of warehouse agreements and contract renewals </li><li>Set up and maintain warehouse site records, including customer consignment warehouses </li><li>Analyze warehouse network performance and recommend optimization opportunities </li></ul> <p>Service Play/Subcontracts</p> <ul> <li>Manage special repack programs, including product and supplier setup and ongoing maintenance </li><li>Continuously evaluate and improve service play and subcontracting processes to enhance efficiency and execution </li><li>Conduct quarterly reviews of actual versus estimated repack and tolling costs; collaborate with FP&A and pricing teams to initiate standard cost adjustments as needed </li><li>Collaborate with Business Management to identify and drive bulk-to-package opportunities </li><li>Serve as a key resource for the purchasing team on all subcontract-related activities </li><li>Maintain and manage subcontract service capability line card </li></ul> <p>General</p> <ul> <li>Communicate updates, changes, and insights related to warehouse partners to internal stakeholders and leadership </li><li>Partner with Quality to ensure compliance with regulatory and quality standards, while driving continuous improvement initiatives </li><li>Verify and support effective implementation of operational solutions </li><li>Provide secondary support to other logistics team members on logistics quotes, escalations, and process improvements </li><li>Participate in and lead cross-functional projects; ensure timely completion of assigned tasks </li><li>Monitor operations, identify improvement opportunities, and recommend solutions across departments </li><li>Facilitate regular communication within the department, including process updates, feedback, and company communications </li><li>Perform additional duties as assigned by management </li></ul> <p>Quality:</p> <p>Activities of the position affect quality objectives. Responsibilities and authorities include where appropriate:</p> <ul> <li>Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformities relating to product, process, or quality system, up to and including when necessary, stopping production to correct quality problems. </li><li>Identify and record any problems relating to the product, process, and quality system. </li><li>Document problems, steps taken for resolution and preventative action in CRM software and notifying all parties required. </li><li>Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through designated channels. </li><li>Verify the implementation of solutions in areas under your control. </li><li>Control further processing, delivery, or installation of nonconforming products until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected. </li><li>Perform duties and tasks as prescribed in company policies, procedures, and work instructions. </li></ul> <p>Note:</p> <p>This position is responsible for conforming to the company quality system procedures as documented.</p> <p>The outline of duties is not arranged in order of priority. These duties will from time to time be altered to suit the needs of the company.</p> <p>We are a tobacco free, professional environment.</p> <p>Requirements:</p> <p>Education:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in supply chain, within this industry or a related field </li></ul> <p>Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Minimum 5+ years' experience in supply chain with experience in distribution and/or 3PL experience or chemical industry preferred </li><li>Experience in manufacturing setting preferred </li></ul> <p>Knowledge/Skills:</p> <ul> <li>Intermediate level of expertise in MS Office and Contact Management Software </li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication abilities </li><li>Ability to maintain a high level of professional conduct at all times, exemplifying corporate policies in all interactions with internal and external customers. </li><li>Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion </li><li>Detail oriented with strong, accurate clerical skills </li><li>Proficient at multi-tasking </li><li>Proactive problem solver </li><li>Ability to lead and/or influence cross-functional teams that do not directly report to role </li><li>Highly motivated </li></ul> <p>Competencies:</p> <p>Customer Oriented, Analytical Skills, Communication Skills, Organizational Skills, Flexibility, Learner's Attitude, Integrity, Relationship Building, Teamwork, Accountability, Conflict Resolution, Enthusiasm</p> <p>Physical Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Satisfactory motor skills relevant to position </li><li>Ability to sit for long periods of time </li><li>Ability to lift up to 25 pounds </li></ul>
