We are seeking a Vocal Music Teacher, this position will teach at William Henry Harrison High School and Harrison Junior School for the 2025/2026 school year and beyond.</p> <p>Job Summary: The ideal candidate will teach our Secondary (Grades 6-12) Vocal Arts Program for the 2025-2026 School Year. Applicants for this position should share in the vision of the current Vocal Music programs and develop/improve on our current programing.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Possess a creative and flexible spirt to serve the population of HJS and HHS. </li><li>Be passionate regarding our current programs (Acapella & Choral Music). </li><li>Work with community partners such as VOCE to embrace performance and develop lifelong passions for music. </li><li>Look to maintain our current robust numbers of student involvement in our Choral Music programs as well as programs that are in place. </li><li>Ability to play the piano to run a rehearsal. </li><li>Partner with our Instrumental Music Programs and Drama Programs to maintain/improve our performing arts programming. </li><li>Candidate must hold a valid Ohio Teaching License and provide Academic Transcripts in application. </li><li>Demonstrate our District Core Values of Trust, Respect, Ownership, and Leadership while serving our mission of Academic and Social Growth for ALL students; every day. </li><li>Perform other tasks/duties as assigned by the building administrator. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Music, Education, or a related field. </li><li>Valid Ohio K-12 teaching license/certification. </li><li>Experience classroom instruction, rehearsals, and performances is preferred. </li><li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and families. </li><li>Commitment to fostering a culture of trust, respect, ownership, and leadership within the school community. </li><li>Willingness to participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices and stay current with educational trends and research. </li></ul> <p>Benefits:</p> <p>Southwest Local School District participates in the Southwest Ohio Organization for School Health (SWOOSH).
