<p>Job Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li> <p>Reports directly to the warden at the institution.</p> </li><li> <p>Responsible for patrolling institutional grounds and monitoring activities to ensure the safety and security of staff.</p> </li><li> <p>Develop and implement crime prevention strategies to maintain a peaceful institutional environment.</p> </li><li> <p>Establish and maintain a positive relationship with executive staff.</p> </li><li> <p>Respond to calls for service and take incident reports.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide guidance and mentorship to staff and assist in conflict resolutions.</p> </li><li> <p>To provide resources to staff for such topics as drug abuse prevention, personal safety, inmate-employee relations, and career development.</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate with institutional administrators to address and prevent staff behavioral issues.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure the safety of staff on Institutional premises.</p> </li><li> <p>Respond to and manage crisis situations and emergencies.</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate with training division, human resources or any other internal or external entity to ensure employees are receiving special or additional training to assist professional growth.</p> </li></ul> <p>Must successfully complete eight (8) weeks of SCDC Basic Training upon hire.</p> <p>Questions regarding the application process, this job posting or any other postings with the SCDC should be directed to:</p> <p>Recruiting and Employment services</p> <p>(803) 896-1649</p> <p>Employment@doc.sc.gov</p> <p>Minimum and Additional Requirements</p> <p>State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:</p> <p>A high school diploma and relevant experience.
