<p>Akkodis is seeking a Database Administrator for a Contract with a client in Stamford, CT. The ideal candidate must have strong expertise in PostgreSQL and MySQL administration, including performance tuning and security best practices.</p> <p>Rate Range: $49/hour to $54/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.</p> <p>Database Administrator job responsibilities include:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Design and implement database schemas to ensure data integrity, scalability, and optimal performance.</p> </li><li> <p>Optimize SQL queries and stored procedures, performing proactive and reactive performance tuning including indexing and parameter configuration.</p> </li><li> <p>Manage database security and access control, implementing encryption and monitoring compliance with security standards.</p> </li><li> <p>Configure high availability and disaster recovery solutions, including multi-AZ deployments, backups, and recovery testing.</p> </li><li> <p>Monitor and troubleshoot database performance issues using AWS tools like CloudWatch and Performance Insights and resolve connectivity or data corruption problems.</p> </li><li> <p>Plan and manage database capacity and storage scaling, while enforcing data archiving and retention policies.</p> </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related discipline.</p> </li><li> <p>8-10 years of experience in database administration and optimization.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong hands-on expertise in PostgreSQL and MySQL, including performance tuning, query optimization, and high availability configurations.</p> </li><li> <p>Proven experience in implementing security best practices, disaster recovery strategies, and monitoring using AWS tools like CloudWatch and Performance Insights.</p> </li></ul> <p>If you are interested in this role, then please click APPLY NOW.
