All City hiring decisions are made without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local laws.</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>Under the direct supervision of the Director of the Museum or up-line personnel is responsible for greeting, welcoming and assisting museum visitors.</p> <p>Duties & Responsibilities</p> <ol> <li> <p>Greet and assist visitors to the museum; sell tickets and memberships; receive and process payments and museum admission reports; collect data about and compile feedback from visitors.</p> </li><li> <p>Engage with the public in answering questions, giving information and promoting the museum and planetarium.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain supply of promotional materials including flyers, membership brochures, museum quests and interpretive information in the museum's public spaces.</p> </li><li> <p>Interface extensively with the Museum staff, partner groups, and the general public.</p> </li><li> <p>Organize and restock gift cart as necessary.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist with retail management, museum memberships, social media, public programs, and other projects as needed.</p> </li><li> <p>Performs other clerical duties including data entry, email correspondence and answering the telephone.</p> </li><li> <p>Responsible to carry out all assignments accurately and in a timely manner.</p> </li><li> <p>Successfully performs duties expeditiously and makes decisions in accordance with rules, regulations, departmental policies and procedures.</p> </li><li> <p>Performs other related duties as assigned.</p> </li></ol> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <ol> <li> <p>High school graduate or equivalent. Associates degree or some college experience preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>Must be able to work weekends. Also available nights and holidays; and/or work extended hours if required.</p> </li><li> <p>A minimum of two years customer service experience required, experience in Visitor Services at cultural institutions or in the tourism industry preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>Possess a knowledge of basic museum ethics, practices and procedures or demonstrate a willingness to learn.</p> </li><li> <p>Computer proficient with knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software programs.</p> </li><li> <p>Friendly, communicative team player.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to understand and carry out complex oral and written instructions.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to communicate effectively and courteously.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to stand for long periods and work outdoors.</p> </li><li> <p>Must be able to perform all essential functions of the job.</p> </li></ol> <p>Posting expires when position is filled.</p> <p>APPLY NOW</p>
