<p>Job Summary</p> <p>The City of St. Peters is seeking a dedicated Horticulturist-or someone eager to grow into the role-who shares our commitment to conservation, environmental stewardship, and community enhancement. As a member of our Parks Department's Green Team, you will play a hands-on role in shaping and maintaining the natural beauty of our City.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Perform tree care tasks including planting, watering, pruning, and removals </li><li>Maintain landscapes by planting and caring for shrubs, perennials, annual flower displays, and applying mulch and weed control </li><li>Support irrigation setup and system maintenance </li><li>Assist with the City's Memorial Program, seasonal holiday decorating, and special projects </li><li>Participate in educational and hands-on opportunities to grow your expertise in arboriculture and horticulture </li><li>Collaborate with other Parks crews on turf care, athletic field maintenance, concrete and asphalt work, and operate heavy equipment when needed </li></ul> <p>Minimum Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Must be a US citizen or lawfully authorized alien worker. </li><li>High School graduate or GED certificate. </li><li>One (1) year of applicable experience. </li><li>Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and carry it a reasonable distance and occasionally lift and/or move more than 75 lbs. </li><li>Must have a Class "B" with air brakes CDL valid in the state of Missouri, or obtain within 120 days of employment. </li><li>Commercial drivers instruction permit (CDIP) must be obtained within 60 days of employment. </li></ul> <p>Why Join Us</p> <p>This is more than just a job-it's an opportunity to dig into a career that offers continued learning, diverse experiences, and a meaningful impact on your community.
