<p>Location: Oak Ridge, TN</p> <p>Job Title: LPF Deputy Project Manager-Engineered Equipment</p> <p>Career Level: Senior Specialist</p> <p>Organization: LPF Project (51399407)</p> <p>Job Specialty: Project-General-Technical</p> <p>What You'll Do</p> <p>Responsible for the project management of all engineered equipment (design, fabrication, testing, delivery, contract administration and delivering) on time and within budget for the long-lead equipment design/fabricate contracts on the Lithium Processing Facility project.</p> <p>Responsible for the performance, cost, and schedule of long-lead equipment. May supervise Control Account Managers who are responsible for the below activities and will ultimately report to the LPF Project Delivery Manager. Overtime and working outside of normal working hours may be required on an as needed basis.</p> <p>Will work directly with vendors/fabricators to:</p> <ul> <li>In-process design and formal submittal design reviews in coordination with CNS and A&E engineering disciplines </li><li>Work with teams to develop testing requirements and approve testing requirements prior to implementation </li><li>Perform vendor on-site fabrication reviews (up to and in excess of 2 weeks a month at peak) </li><li>Support factory acceptance testing (FAT) planning, scoping, and manage / attend FAT testing ensuring schedule and costs objectives are met </li><li>Ensure overall quality of design and fabrication meets requirements </li><li>Manage contracts to deliver on time and within budget </li></ul> <p>Will perform additional project management activities:</p> <ul> <li>Provide input into formal and informal project estimates </li><li>Provide weekly updates to the project schedule forecasts and support input to the Project Performance Reporting in accordance with Earned Value Management requirements </li><li>Responsible for risk and change management of the scope </li><li>Provide weekly and monthly reporting to LPF Senior Project Management and to the Federal Project Director/Client staff </li></ul> <p>Will perform specific subcontract project management activities:</p> <ul> <li>Provide guidance working with the Project Management team on subcontract management items and issues </li><li>Provide project reporting and metrics to monitor subcontract performance (including EVMS reporting) </li><li>Work with Supply Chain organization on oversight of subcontract administration, Request for Equitable Adjustment analysis, negotiations and overall subcontract change management </li></ul> <p>What You Can Expect</p> <ul> <li>Meaningful work and unique opportunities to support missions vital to national and global security </li><li>Top-notch, dedicated colleagues </li><li>Generous pay and benefits with a stable organization </li><li>Career advancement and professional development programs </li><li>Work-life balance fostered through flexible work options and wellness initiatives </li></ul> <p>Minimum Job Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree and minimum 8 years of relevant Project Management, Engineering, Procurement, or Construction (EPC) industry experience with a working knowledge of subcontract management on DOE projects, and has engineering experience or experience in managing / oversight of equipment fabrication. Typical relevant experience ranging from 10 to 15 years. </li><li>OR Master's degree: Minimum 7 years of relevant experience. Typical relevant experience ranging from 10 to 15 years. </li><li>OR 16 or more years of education and/or relevant experience may be considered to satisfy educational and years-of-experience requirements for this posting. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Job Requirements</p> <ul> <li> <p>Working knowledge of planning and budget/cost control principles, and knowledge of Earned Value Management System (EVMS) principles</p> </li><li> <p>Willing to travel to vendor facilities (domestic and potentially overseas) ~50% of the time at peak</p> </li><li> <p>Has experience in project management and/or supply chain management of projects up to or greater than $50M.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience in working/coordinating with the following functions: Procurement, quality, project controls, engineering and construction.</p> </li><li> <p>7-10 years' experience with managing/overseeing/participating in one-of-a-kind or engineered procurements either from a technical or management perspective</p> </li><li> <p>Experience/knowledge of installation and start-up of engineered equipment</p> </li><li> <p>Has experience with the following:</p> </li><li> <p>Successfully developing, managing and leading teams and efforts</p> </li><li> <p>Executing project tasks / major initiatives and/or small projects within the planned time and budget</p> </li><li> <p>Subcontract administration/management principles</p> </li><li> <p>Evaluating project and process problems to determine appropriate solutions</p> </li><li> <p>Interfacing with senior management and project customers</p> </li><li> <p>Presenting information clearly and through use of effective oral and written communication</p> </li><li> <p>Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline, combined with demonstrated evidence of/or equivalent knowledge and experience in project management involving subcontract management oversight, design oversight, equipment fabrication, and knowledge of management of cost and schedule and project execution</p> </li><li> <p>Experience in / with the following functions is preferred: Procurement, quality, project controls, engineering and construction.</p> </li><li> <p>Responsible for oversight of managing, coordinating and administering subcontract and procurement packages, as well as small projects or studies</p> </li><li> <p>Experience with the design and/or fabrication of gloveboxes</p> </li><li> <p>Certified Project Management Professional</p> </li></ul> <p>Why Y-12?</p> <p>You get #morethanajob.
