<p>Project description</p> <p>Luxoft has one of the world's leading Calypso practice. We are a top-tier Calypso Partner and a market leader in implementation, integration, upgrade, and migration. We provide end-to-end project services and have delivered Calypso projects across all major asset classes and sectors including investment banking, asset management, corporate treasury, and insurance. Project Description: Support and additional build out for Calypso instance. Compensation for NYC: 160000-200000 USD Gross per year based on your interview results.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Role Summary: Expert-level Project Manager with a proven track record delivering enterprise-scale Calypso implementations. The candidate will own end-to-end project delivery, drive governance, manage client relationships, and provide leadership across functional and technical workstreams in a capital markets environment. 1. Calypso Project Delivery Experience </li><li>Minimum 8 years in capital markets with at least 5 years as a Project Manager on Calypso implementation, migration, or upgrade programs </li><li>Demonstrated experience delivering multi-year, enterprise-class Calypso projects from initiation through to BAU handover and project closure </li><li>End-to-end ownership of Calypso project phases: discovery, design, build, SIT, UAT, parallel run, cutover, and post-go-live stabilisation </li><li>Experience managing Calypso projects across multiple asset classes (fixed income, FX, rates derivatives, repos, equities) and multiple legal entities </li><li>Familiarity with Calypso implementation methodology and Luxoft/vendor delivery frameworks </li><li>Track record of delivering Calypso projects on the vendor/system integrator side, managing both client and internal workstreams simultaneously 2. Project Planning & Governance </li><li>Development and maintenance of integrated project plans covering all Calypso workstreams: functional configuration, technical development, integration, data migration, testing, and cutover </li><li>Definition and management of project milestones, critical path, dependencies, and resource allocation across virtual and matrix teams </li><li>Setup and operation of project governance frameworks: steering committees, workstream leads, RAID logs, and weekly status reporting </li><li>Production of steering committee materials, executive dashboards, and ad-hoc client presentations </li><li>Management of project budgets, forecasting, and variance reporting against approved baselines </li><li>Ownership of the project RAID log: identification, escalation, and resolution of risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies throughout the project lifecycle </li><li>Facilitation of project governance ceremonies: kick-offs, design reviews, go/no-go checkpoints, and retrospectives 3. Agile & Hybrid Delivery </li><li>Planning, driving, and managing sprints in an Agile (Scrum/Kanban) delivery model on Calypso projects </li><li>Facilitation of sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives across distributed teams </li><li>Management of the product backlog in collaboration with functional and technical leads, ensuring sprint commitments are realistic and tracked </li><li>Experience operating in hybrid delivery environments combining Agile sprint cycles with waterfall governance and milestone-based client reporting </li><li>Use of project management tooling: JIRA, Confluence, MS Project, or equivalent for plan management and team collaboration 4. Stakeholder & Client Management </li><li>Primary point of contact for client stakeholders including C-suite, program sponsors, business owners, and IT leadership </li><li>Management of client expectations across scope, timeline, budget, and quality throughout the project lifecycle </li><li>Facilitation of steering committee meetings including agenda management, material preparation, decision tracking, and minute distribution </li><li>Proactive communication of project status, risks, and issues to client and internal leadership with appropriate escalation paths </li><li>Experience managing difficult stakeholder conversations including scope disputes, delay notifications, and change requests </li><li>Building and maintaining strong working relationships across front office, middle office, operations, finance, compliance, and IT client teams 5. Resource & Team Management </li><li>Resource planning and allocation across onshore, nearshore, and offshore delivery teams in a matrix organization </li><li>Management of functional BAs, technical developers, integration specialists, and testing leads as a cohesive project team </li><li>Onboarding of project team members, clarity of role definition, and performance management in a vendor delivery context </li><li>Identification of resource gaps and escalation to resourcing management with clear skills and timing requirements </li><li>Fostering a collaborative team culture with clear accountability, psychological safety, and delivery focus 6. Technical Bridge - Functional & Technical Workstreams </li><li>Sufficient Calypso technical knowledge to act as a bridge between functional BAs and technical developers on the project </li><li>Understanding of Calypso architecture, integration patterns, environment management, and batch processing to engage credibly in technical discussions </li><li>Ability to review and challenge technical estimates, identify technical risks, and validate technical delivery against functional requirements </li><li>Familiarity with Calypso modules relevant to the project scope: FO/MO trade processing, BO settlement, accounting, collateral, and reporting </li><li>Working knowledge of SQL sufficient to validate data migration outputs and understand technical root-cause analysis findings </li><li>Understanding of SWIFT messaging, SAP integration patterns, and market data connectivity in the context of a Calypso implementation 7. Change & Scope Management </li><li>Ownership of the change management process: identification, impact assessment, pricing, approval, and implementation of change requests </li><li>Maintenance of a formal change log with clear traceability from change request through to plan and budget impact </li><li>Management of scope creep with structured challenge and escalation processes aligned to contract and SOW boundaries </li><li>Coordination of change communications to all impacted stakeholders including client, delivery team, and governance bodies 8. Risk & Issue Management </li><li>Proactive identification of project risks across people, process, technology, and external dependency dimensions </li><li>Definition of risk mitigation plans, contingency options, and escalation thresholds per risk </li><li>Active management of the issues log with clear ownership, target resolution dates, and escalation paths </li><li>Experience managing high-severity issues on Calypso projects including environment failures, data migration defects, and integration outages during critical delivery phases 9. Data Migration & Cutover Management </li><li>Experience planning and managing data migration workstreams on Calypso projects including legacy system freeze, data extraction, transformation, load, and validation </li><li>Ownership of cutover planning: sequencing of activities, go/no-go criteria, parallel run management, and fallback decision authority </li><li>Coordination of reconciliation activities during parallel run between legacy and Calypso outputs </li><li>Management of business readiness activities: training, operational runbook sign-off, and support model confirmation prior to go-live 10. Testing & Quality Assurance </li><li>Oversight of end-to-end testing strategy on Calypso projects: SIT, UAT, performance testing, and parallel run </li><li>Management of test planning, entry/exit criteria, defect prioritization, and UAT sign-off processes with client business owners </li><li>Escalation and resolution of critical defects blocking go-live readiness with clear communication to steering committee </li><li>Coordination of third-party testing dependencies: SWIFT connectivity testing, SAP integration testing, and custodian/CCP certification 11. BAU Handover & Project Closure </li><li>Planning and execution of transition to BAU including knowledge transfer, support model handover, and hypercare period management </li><li>Production of project closure documentation: lessons learned, final status report, open issues log, and post-implementation review </li><li>Ensuring all project artefacts are complete, approved, and archived in line with governance requirements </li><li>Post-go-live stabilisation management: tracking of outstanding items, prioritisation of fixes, and formal project closure sign-off </li></ul> <p>SKILLS</p> <p>Must have</p> <ul> <li>8+ years capital markets experience with deep understanding of trade lifecycle, settlement, accounting, and risk management </li><li>Formal project management qualification: PMP, PRINCE2 Practitioner, or MSP (strongly preferred) </li><li>Agile certification: Certified Scrum Master (CSM), SAFe, or equivalent advantageous </li><li>Strong understanding of capital markets products across FX, rates, fixed income, derivatives, and repos </li><li>Experience on the vendor/system integrator side managing enterprise Calypso programmes is essential </li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills with demonstrable experience presenting to C-level stakeholders </li></ul> <p>Nice to have</p> <ul> <li>Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment is essential. • Have a willingness to learn new skills • Must have attention to detail • Must have the ability to work independently and also as part of a group • Experience of Agile practices and processes (e.g. SCRUM, KANBAN) • Any technical knowledge (Writing simple sql query, be able to read code ) • Conflict management ensuring collaborative outcomes • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy </li></ul>
